from a pure performance standpoint not v worth to upgrade i guess

they say batt life improve 30% lol when same capacity @ 4000mah and 1440p display now. dk if amoled tech, 10nm manufacturing process and er AI(?) can save battery by that much. we shall see.

"Some good news to current Huawei users - the Mate 9 and the Mate9 Pro will be updated to EMUI 8.0 three to four weeks after the release of the Mate 10 series. Updates to the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are also coming in the near future. Huawei will integrate the intelligent features available in the Mate 10 on the Mate 9 and P10, too, but those will be relying on the processor alone in there. Here is hoping the overall performance won't take a big hit."

The AI is really an interesting feature. I think this is what really differentiates Mate 10 from Mate 9.

I'm looking forward to play with the AI in November with Mate 9 and Android 8, then upgrade to a newer Mate series (11?) next year.

Hopefully the rough edges in Mate 10's AI and NPU would be ironed out by then.

Think M9 will have limited AI capabilities due to lack of the NPU (CPU isn't that efficient), there are some already inbuilt since day 1. But certainly this pioneering effort will grow and you see the rest of the industry following as well eg Apple.

The converse is also true, if they do bring a number of enhancements over I expect to see performance drop and battery life reduced due to the increased workload required on an inferior CPU/gpu combo.

Wonder when this will be made available

I like pts 2 & 3. Actually B189 firmware is quite fast and stable, haven't seen many bugs so far so rather happy with it. Wouldn't trade it for Oreo if have to give up reliability or performance.

Camera improvements would be a good update if any :)
But me after update to B189, phone hang at least once a week, which had never happen before.
Some more yesterday auto deleted three icons from my home screen.
Speedwise is the same.

Hmm.. mine's really good without such issues. In your case prob good to upgrade when the new Oreo comes out.

With the launch of M10, one prob can get some good deals for M9 from upgraders or carousell if you don't mind not having the latest and greatest.

Still a very relevant and powerful fone with decent dual cam. Plus standard 2y warranty for local set means there will be abt a year warranty left given M9 was launched last year, for peace of mind. :)

And Android 8 Oreo updates to come!

New set priced at 600, would anyone buy used set less than one year old or around there at 400+?

i think that's the quota balance. i've not used mine and it says usage count 1. maybe if you already use, it drops to 0?

Cos mine, I used the replacement already and it does say Usage Count : 1

Either that, or the 1 really does mean that you're entitled to 1 replacement and it's not a count of whether you used it already or not.
