Praying honor will come out with their own honor trifold with local Google support..

Huawei is yet to release their third iteration of the trifold, I'd expect it to be a redesign of some sorts. Honor would then take a few months before launching their iteration with qualcomm chips and GMS.

Both Honor and Oppo execs have publicly said before that not launching a trifold is a business decision for them and not a question of technical capability.

Given that I'd assume they'll take a strong wait and see approach, assessing the Samsung z trifold and possibly the rumored Apple bifold before they make a move.

So earliest I see them launching is Nov, if they choose to respond to the Z trifold and Huawei releases a gen 3 trifold in sept. If they choose to wait till the iPhone fold is out it could take till 2027, assuming apple releases a fold this year.

Either way I'm not so hyped up on Honor SG, as in all likelihood they won't provide screen warranty like Huawei/Honor provides in Malaysia and China.

Buying a 4k phone with an exposed folding display and possibly being on the hook for a 1-2k repair bill is not something I'd palette easily.

Don't mind waiting a while if honor chooses to replicate or improve on the mate xt existing design... Mate xt got screen warranty in china but local set trifold for Samsung and Huawei also no warranty at all lol .. the exposed folding display i see many long term reviewers and users don't have much issue tho..

Some fool asked me about the 4G speed of the Huawei Mate XT since it has no 5G. He alluded that many Huawei XT users here refused to post the 4G speed results because of how bad it is. Sure, it is no 5G but I think it is enough for most people.

Enough for normal browsing.. but 5G speed really much higher than 4G la haha...and if use 5G SA battery consumption also higher than just using 4g...I would prefer getting a device that supports 5G if I’ve ample data… makes a world difference for streaming…

I would prefer 5G as an option and turn it on when I need it. Use case include downloading an episode from Netflix for offline viewing during lunch break. Downside of 5G is a hit on battery life if you run many background apps that access location accuracy constantly. So if anyone really want to save battery, 4G (LTE) is still the way to go...besides most of the apps and even 1080p YouTube enhanced bitrate with HDR support streaming is plenty sharp for most 6.5 ~ 6.8" screen. For trifold, the screen estate is bigger and if pushing 4K HDR, battery life will somewhat take a hit, esp streaming Netflix series.

I'll advise against it. The inner stock screen protector is actually "less fingerprinty" compared to the Samsung Z Trifold imo.

If you dun believe...you can go to the Challenger's flagship store at Bugis and see it for yourself. They have a demo unit there :)
