I only had the phone for 2 days...haven't even try the Android Auto and see whether it works. I will reserve my comments for now. Quick impression, the UI is surprisingly smooth. Opened multiple apps and experience no hiccups so far.China set
I bought it in aug 2025
You regretted?
I get hiccups upon loading a page sometimes despite no other RAM demanding apps , using samsung browser and hwz site takes like 15 seconds to load when the trifold is on unfolded mode ,horizontallyI only had the phone for 2 days...haven't even try the Android Auto and see whether it works. Any reason why you are using Samsung browser? Why not use chrome?I get hiccups upon loading a page sometimes despite no other RAM demanding apps , using samsung browser and hwz site takes like 15 seconds to load when the trifold is on unfolded mode ,horizontally
Sync bookmarks tied to samsung accountAny reason why you are using Samsung browser? Why not use chrome?
Even if the price is around the same as any foldable with 2 screen...I'll not even buy this tri-foldable. It makes no sense. Ugly as hell...and the thickness of 3 screens folded together looks absurb. My 2 cents...
Dragging you down togetherEven give me a free unit (Huawei Mate XT), I won't even want it...There is just too many compromise for this outward folding foldable phone. Even Samsung's implementation of the "G-" fold is not enticing enough for me to get one. For foldable, I can only accept 2 screen (bi-fold) at this point...I still believe that the current apps in the app store right now is still not optimised for foldable.
Full usage of all the screens? I think at most 8h and that is just purely browsing
If streaming video, 5h
Still sexy lookingRed XT looking sexy![]()
naked, as always@1982-1994 , what kind of case are you using for your Mate XT? Stock case or third party?
I saw you trimmed the handle...gosh, I guess you have no intention to sell your phone eh? For me, I am getting it to play with the trifold for a month or two before I sell. So need to baby this. Huawei's sale strategy seems to take at least 1 year for any latest model to go "global". For now, the Mate XT S features just not worth the extra shilling. Hence decided to get the Huawei Mate XT to play around.
Will sell it end of the year after getting the successor of XTS, if only;I guess you have no intention to sell your phone eh?
I ever dropped the phone once in dual fold mode from a height of 1.8m in the bathroom ,heng no scratches or dents but it doesn't stop me from using it without casingBut Mate XT screen exposed to the elements needs a hard cover case to protect
Wow...seems quite tough and durable.I ever dropped the phone once in dual fold mode from a height of 1.8m in the bathroom ,heng no scratches or dents but it doesn't stop me from using it without casing
Why such hassles since you are selling it laterGettting all apps to work on your Huawei phone using Google Playstore (GBox) and Aurora Store
I have managed to get every apps to install after I have discovered there are some "missing" core google system files that the global rom (sold in Singapore) failed to pre-installed.
1. Missing google play services framework proxy - download and install it from microG.org. Once installed, all apps can be updated via Google Playstore or Aurora store w/o any issue.
2. Ensure all microG services permissions are all enabled. By default, it is not!
3. Make sure under microG Services in the Settings, select unverified links, "*.app.goo.gl".
4. Go to the cogs icon, select Self-Check, ensure all microG services are checked. If the microG Services Framework is unchecked, that means you need to instgall the play services framework proxy. Follow pt. 1.
5. Next make sure, under Advanced, select "Yes" for Draw over other apps.
6. Lastly, under Launch Manager, make sure to uncheck the button for microG services framework proxy.
7. Another missing core service is Android System Webview Beta. In the Aurora store, search for this service and install it. Once installed, go to Launch Manager and uncheck the button for Android System Webview Beta.
8. Clear the cache for GBox to clear the cache of the Sandbox (VM) and add in your Google Account one more time.
