New battery needs around 1-2 weeks to stabilize. (although 20% seemed a little high in your case)

Mine updated to 10.1 and did not face any issue. Overnight consumption around 1 to 2%.

if you want best battery, better don't update the firmware
if you want latest update, battery life more or less affected

however, you can try factory reset the phone after the update is done

personally I have not tried a brand new p30pro, only used set, the battery disappointed me even at emui 9.1, depleting every 6-8mins even normal browsing, maybe I was expecting good battery like mate 20

but I am sure the battery life of p30pro is better than Samsung S20

after the 10.1.0.126 update, battery seems to drain faster for my P30 pro... before update can last whole day, now cannot alr. i just got my hp in feb20

Managed to find the culprit... Turn off Facebook running on background and auto start up...
After doing that, my battery consumption is back to normal

Starhub user here, I updated it yesterday night.

My chrome app is finally back to normal.

The previous version it kept hanging, I had to restart my phone to get it to work again.

just bought an used p30 pro and did a debloat with the usual adb commands/list. hope the battery life is just as beasty as my mate 20x as long as can breeze thru the day it will be awesome.

True that, but to me if it can last beyond a day that's good enough for me.

S20+ can't even last 3/4 of the day.
