sadly no changes to hardware except the RAM portion..
so i guess it won’t really make sense also

i asked here coz i'm inclined towards p30

new phone for the wife, her mate 10 is 2yr + already. no hurry to change
happy to stay in huawei, but new phones all no GMS...

needs:
-best camera for reasonable price (below 700)
-bigger screen preferably (existing 5.9?)
-GMS
-at least 128gb or with external memory
-significant improvement over mate 10 (kirin 970 4gb)
-local warranty

P30 Pro $830 (I did a quick check at redwhite mobile)

I'll be honest, P30 Pro can tahan for another 2 years with its specs and if you source on your own, I'm pretty sure you can get it below $830.

Personally speaking, unlike Samsung (and it's $48 Samsung concierge marketing gimmick), huawei's after sales support is impressive.

Maybe because there are lesser huawei users in Singapore? I hardly face any queues and the fact that I can get instant tech support from the phone itself spells out much for the company and its attitude towards its customers.

And even when there was a noob (looks to be close to pioneer generation age) customer ranting at the cso, he handled it very very professionally.

What I'm trying to say is, get a P30 Pro and you'll probably face minimal phone issues for the next 2 (or more years).

and that 50% premium for a brand new set, vs a 1yr old set with 1 more year warranty. resellers are bringing out the chopping boards coz last huawei with GMS and telcos not bringing in anymore (only singtel)?

But for partner. Get the best for her. Take the p30 pro if she requires gms.

Cause new Huawei doesn't have gms. And not much brands to choose other than China brands..

Its only going for $279 (local set with 2 years warranty) instead of p30. It has GMS and it came out in the late 2019, after p30 series.

Personally I think it looks a lot sleeker than p30 (plus I don't think p30 is worth even $400 to me at all) and I actually considered getting it for my mum (between y9s and redmi note 9s/pro).

i think p30 pro now at 500+ is one of the best buy, most of them are still under warranty (huawei has 2 years warranty). camera is still one of the best in the market too, no horse run.

My recommendation is with regards to pawn_king options.

Personally, I'm considering to upgrade to P40 Pro + from P30 Pro and I'll sideload GMS for it.

The main issue I have with HMS is I can't backup/restore WhatsApp data while the rest of the roadblocks are kinda negligible to me.

I'm considering p40 pro at about $100 premium to p30p.

is the p40p + a huge upgrade over the p40p? costs 50% more and as heavy as my mate 20x!

If it's my personal phone, I can risk non-native GMS and fiddle settings. but it's for the missus, and the risk of getting nagged at is REAL. lol

Just tested two of my previously working USb C to HDMI hub, and both now doesnt work aand activate Desktop anymore. Not sure if it's 10.1 issue, can someone help try it?

Mine still work with ugreen hub.
