Apple makes good hardware but the software is so boring. Samsung and their exynos BS is DOA. The Chinese phones are like...eh.
Got my eyes on the new Xperia but local support seems very spotty (users over at the Xperia thread also not happy), plus the camera on it doesn't seem to be a clear leap over Huawei's stuff. No matter what, Huawei's cameras are still damn near unbeatable, which makes all this Trump nonsense so troublesome for Huawei users.

You can try two phone strategy if you want to stick to Huawei. One Huawei phone without GMS, say P40 Pro or the upcoming Mate 40 Pro which might be a collectable item. Then you can have one low cost or mid range Android phone for the GMS stuff.

Or you can keep using your P30 Pro and wait for the next interesting phone. P30 Pro is still a very good phone now. So you can wait for another six months or even one year.

IMHO iPhone 12 Pro will be one of the best phones to replace Huawei P30 Pro if you are okay with Apple.

can add the credit card, but everytime i try to tap at checkout, the terminal just beeps twice and then says transaction failed

anyone know how to get google pay working? or any other form of contactless payment?

You need to tap the upper half of the phone to the terminal. If you tap the middle of the phone to the terminal you will get the double beeping sound and transactions wont go through.

Anyone here a previous user of mate 9? I have a mate 9 and thinking of upgrading but I definitely want the GMS, so am not looking at the newer phones.

My mate 9 still doing OK so don't know if I will regret upgrading since it is such a great phone.

And does anyone know whether the new edition will be launched in sg?
