I'm using it on a daily basis.

You can actually tap both sides (front or back of phone) but word of advice is tapping from the back gets detected faster/easier than the front sometimes.

1. For starters, try to practice on your ez link card to figure out where is ur nfc. From here onwards, it should give you a rough idea where your placement should be for future reference.

2. I use TL SimplyGo app with GooglePay app to make payments on public transport.

3. Don't have to unlock phone to make payment. Just press the power button to wake the phone and you can make payments already.

4. Place the phone on the payment reader and do not remove until you see a blue tick. Some users do it too fast and end up seeing a red cross instead.

5. If the above steps don't work, send in your phone to get it fixed.

PS - Make sure to set up your card details under the GooglePay app.

Can try install Google pay apk
I have both international and singapore Google pay (for the rewards)

solved the problem with google support! turns out the p30 pro nfc default payment mode is "sim card", hence the transaction error
to solve the problem
1. Open the Settings app.
2. At the top of the screen, tap the search bar and type “Tap.”
3. Select Tap & pay > Payment default.
4. Make sure “G Pay” or “Google Pay” is selected as the payment default.
now it works!

Anyone here a previous user of mate 9? I have a mate 9 and thinking of upgrading but I definitely want the GMS, so am not looking at the newer phones.

My mate 9 still doing OK so don't know if I will regret upgrading since it is such a great phone.

And does anyone know whether the new edition will be launched in sg?

I converted from mate 9 as my battery started to bloat again. Gms was the reason I chose p30 over mate series..

No regrets yet but I suggest you try out first.

Me just change from Mate10 to P30 on shopee offer.

Ya, I know this model has been released for 1.5years aldy. But when compare with others phone recently release, the price is too high to justify to change. Beside Samsung(Korean) and Sony(Japan), the rest are China brand. Apple still got few issue still there stopping me since my last iPhone 4s.

To me this is good enough for my usage. And, I need GMS for work reason. Only downside it only have 128GB for non-pro model.
