negative. TraceTogether works on my p40 pro if you know how to install it via a workaround.

actually, I carry 2 phone too. it quite normal nowadays. I prefer to use my huawei for leisure or personal use. I only use my work phone when I need for communication or phone call.

Hmmm dude when we buy a phone there is not emotional or loyalty in play here ya, we pay 1k to buy a phone becos we want certain feature of a phone and expect it to work out of box, esp a lot of us buy this phone to combine our personal and work phone into one.

Just like in mate30 thread a bro bought mate30 due to work need to install contact tracing app if not not allow to enter office and becos hms 1/2 bake cannot complete activation on the hms, in the end he has to find ways to find another phone and carry 2 phones. Which defeat the purposes (in my opinion)

lol what

if people want to waste their hard earned money on an incomplete device, lol let em. You gonna be that guy in the room that tells people what to do with their own money? Even if you want to educate peoole, say once enough already.

I'm sure you have better things to do with your life. Let it go, man.

lol. That dude is like a broken record, repeating his point over and over again in this thread and other threads like mate 30. Wonder why he has so much issues with people spending their own money.

Well then I can only say you are not emphatic of ppl who bought the phone based on the misinformation in this thread and you all calling them indirectly that they are stupid and deserving it lo.

But why the misinformation in the 1st place leh? Shouldn’t we just discuss void of any emotion in here? This is a technical and hardware thread leh, if loyalty tcss then should we discuss this in EMDW?

Yeah. You ok with that?

Kinda, i don't know if it's as seamless as GPay.

There's empathy and there's just being annoying. How people choose to spend their money isn't my responsibility. Nobody appointed me to be the absolute truthsayer of Huawei's Google issues in this forum, or anywhere else (you think this forum's got it bad? Stay away from the Huawei SG Facebook group then), so I got better things to do with my time, thanks.

Anyway I don't see a huge amount of Huawei bias in this thread? People are addressing the GMS issues ya?

Can grab, favepay, sg buses work on huawei p40?

Grab works. you can use it to book rides/food, but you will not be able to see the map. can only gauge based on the time estimation.

There are bus apps on HMS that works quite well. I use SG Dr Bus.
Dont use fave pay, so not sure about that.

I dont understand why this is an issue here? we are discussing about the phone here. If one has decided to get any phone, you should do your own homework.

Those of us who decided that we can live with the short comings of HMS, or to apply work-arounds have every right to discuss what we like/dislike about the phone here.

Yes I agree the please discuss but when a person asking a question need to give proper advise (which is the intent of this forum) and not downplay the potential inconvenience.

And it’s not correct to assume the person never do research, if the person never do research the person won’t come into this thread which again is a thread void of emotion or loyalty and pure discussion on technical and any lobang for discount.

Becos by downplaying the problems, the potential office white collars (who may not be a tech savvy) trying to research using this thread, will think just minor nuisance and no issue and bought a 1000 phone but cannot use for his work:

Again bearing in mind the original intent of this thread is a technical and lobang threads.

Again I am not against hms, it is what it is a 2/3 baked mobile system with huge potential. I am also not against huawei phone in fact it’s one of the best camera and battery life.

But the right advise to give to ppl professional white collar will be temporary (until the system mature) not suitable as a daily drive for work or biz use. That would be the better answer. No?

If you are talking about sammyboy then yes I am a supporter of it lol.

But if you are about Samsung handphone the last Sammy phone is note 2. Lol

dude, I think you're being "overly caring" to potential buyers by repeating (to the point of nagging) the fact that the phone doesn't have GMS and so... buyers beware.

I think those who've eyes to see will know what they're getting into if they want to buy this phone (or mate 30 series for that matter).

there is honestly no need to keep repeating the same old message in your posts. It gets to the point it becomes an annoyance to read your posts - hence some are just outright getting dissed with you.

as one fellow member said earlier... just let it go. you can help answer questions but refrain from making judgement because one man's poison is another man's meat.

for me, I've jumped ship from Huawei (P30 Pro) to Oppo (Find X2 Pro) simply because there's no legit GMS support which I need frequently for my work. Sad to leave but hope to rejoin Huawei again when the ban is lifted (if that day comes).

For a person whose work doesn't depend on Google at all - the P40 series is top notch, bar none. camera, battery, etc.

I'll keep reading the threads in Huawei to catch updates.
