No doubt u are right. But since hw is shut out of google eco system. They have to strive outside of it then. There are so many users in China it is whole different world out there. We just need to see it like they do.

There are many Russian using Huawei as well. Probably they are not bound to Google spyware like us. :D

Anyone managed to get singpass and stashaway to work on p40 pro?

SingPass Mobile got more than 1 million users and they are phasing out hard token.

Try calling them and check what's the progress. GovTech should not be so dumb.. I don't think it's so hard to roll out the HMS version..

Middle East, Huawei is also very popular there now. Problem is many people around me are very deeply embedded into Google store apps. Best example, WhatsApp. Tried to get a few people to convert, all die die insist WhatsApp the best. Damn stubborn people nowadays.

WhatsApp can be downloaded from their website. But, I rather delete this nsa spyware if my workplace and family members do not use it.

I will force people to use Telegram if I have a choice. I hope FB push out the full screen popup ads to WhatsApp.. People will then wake up from their dreams.. :D

Just sideload gms...

what is the cons for sideload GMS? wouldn't mind the hassle to reset the phone as I'm migrating from iphone.

need apps such as

singpass
bank apps like DBS, UOB, CITI, CIMB, MAYBANK
Grab/Gojek/Comfort
Foodpanda/Fave
EZ-Link
Health 365
Skype for biz, Teams, Zoom

Wonder why HMS not like google or apple to allow current and potential users to browse through their gallery on a browser to see what's available and users' review?

At this point due to the non maturity, there will be more negative than positive.

I think immaturity is a well known fact (at least for now).

But with browsing data and frequent search keywords, perhaps it allow them to prioritize which app to launch/develop more accurately?

The challenge is to migrate those that yet to onboard HMS and a view on their gallery may help to do that.

Actually it is better to skip new Huawei Phones if you are asking such questions.

And at least CITI, Gojek, Health365 are not available from Huawei AppGallery.

I am now using P20 as my main phone and also Nova 5T as they have the Huawei AppGallery as well as Google Play Store. Huawei has made a lot of progress in HMS but it will take quite sometime to catch up.

If you side load GMS, take note it is not certified by Google and it is not supported by either Google or Huawei, unless you are tech savvy and are willing to mess with the phone, there is no point to buy such an expensive phone.

I am happy with the two Huawei phones I have but I am not going to buy any new Huawei Phone without GMS as of now.

On the other hand, if you are really tech savvy and have the time to mess with phone, or you just use it as a secondary phone, by all means get it if you like the other aspect of the phone.

Probably they are still working on it.

You can install AppGallery and HMS Core in your non Huawei phone to check their progress..

Not simple to sideload but doable. I am lazy to sideload hence using without gms. No doubt got some issues but I dun mind it. I believe given time, AppGallery or some better stores will be on par or even better than Google play store.

Also AppGallery is implementing the apps too quickly that there are some issues after installing. Bear that in mind.for me I'm cool bcos all my commonly used apps are not affected.

AppGallery is probably the second best or the third best already among the third party Android App Stores. I doubt any third party app stores can catch up with Google Play Store any time soon.

Amazon Appstore
APKMirror
APKPure
APKUpdater
Aptoide
F-Droid
Huawei AppGallery
QooApp
Samsung Galaxy Apps
Yalp Store

Huawei AppGallery seems to lack quite a few essential local entertainment apps, namely SingTel Cast, SingTel TV Go and Starhub Go.

However MeWatch and MeListen are included.

For VPN apps, Astrill is also missing.

thats why users must do research b4 getting since now flagship phone not cheap

huawei think not for the faint hearted at the moment....smamy or apple safer for most users

just like android tv box, expert like u can get a blank box while normal users need to get box with app installed
damn.....when is my himedia q10pro getting a replacement model haha...,,,
