Just popped by Huawei Plaza Sing today to molest some of their phones and casually asked the sales rep if they know when P9 will land. I was quite surprised when she confidently said June! a bit late but still okay I guess!

This is not a nexus or Samsung, it's a Leica. It's optimized for photographers, not technicians engineers and benchmarkers.

Dxo tests are not well documented, and what's not documented can't be verified and disputed. If you are a huge brand like Leica, which the important thing is photographic quality and not benchmark, dxomark is not such a huge priority.

Like what the posts already said, most of the people just want to know how "good" or "bad" are the cameras without spending hours of research time and expecting to know everything to know about sensors, lights, photography terminologies, etc etc.

Who should they look for? Sitting down with pro photographers who uses that camera for an unbiased review? And who is to say the photographers that uses that camera wont be bias? Do they have a more measurable way to define which is camera is better than the other? I do understand not everything can be measured, as the numbers dont give a rat ass about the "feel" of the pictures produced.

Well, everything has pros and cons, and most of the reviews can even be taken with a grain of salt because human are just human (we do tend to be bias towards something we like). Also, the general public doesnt want to know the technical details.. They just want to know if that camera can take good pictures. So it is still justifiable to know how well it flares on benchmark, if not for geeks but just for kicks

Deckcard, good points. Without DXOmark then one just has to listen to what the photographers say, and actually look at the pictures themselves I guess. And I guess this is what Leica wants, to judge a camera by its pictures and not by a benchmark which parameters are not disclosed.

I dont think its a focusing problem. The "simulated" bokeh can be a little tricky if not use on the right scenario

I want the 4GB/64GB (L29) as it supports more bands but in Silver/Gray Only a single colour is very strange.

Any news if the dual-sim supports 4G+3G simultaneously? Otherwise it's not much use for dual-sim usage.

I dont think its a focusing problem. The "simulated" bokeh can be a little tricky if not use on the right scenario

can the simulated bokeh be turned off? Considering to get this phone instead of LG G5.
