the hero5 price is $590. then add 32gb card +$29 = 619
then apply qoo10 discount $100 and shop discount $10 = $509

Ah, thanks...I got the Hero 5 session instead. Had to find $150 worth of other items to top up to $600.

Have you received yours yet?

Hi all,

May I know what brands of memory cards should I use on the GoPro Hero 5? And which reputable retailer/online sellers should I get it from? Eg. Warranty and authenticity

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. :) Much appreciated. Apologies if it's the wrong place to post this question.

Have you guys compared this with Sony FDR X3000? My biggest complaint for Hero 5 is that it does not do image stabilization at 4K.

Walk into Parisilk to buy, call first. I think their price is slightly less than official $599. Alternatively, wait for coupon like some forumers to buy from Qoo10, Parisilk also has an online account at Qoo10 but you have to wait a few working days. I bought mine walking in to Parisilk as I need it urgently.

For microSD card, the max supported is 128GB. The 2 brands you can consider buying locally are Sandisk and Samsung. For Sandisk, I would suggest the 128GB Extreme which has writing speed of 60MB/s. The 64GB variant will have slower writing speed of 40MB/s which is still very usable. If you feel more loaded you can get the Extreme Plus and Extreme Pro from sandisk. As for Samsung, only get their Pro Plus version as the lower range of Evo Plus and Evo Select have slow writing speed of 20MB/s. Just go to Cybermind, Best Bargain or Blizgram in Sim Lim to buy. Or you can go to Challenger to buy as well if that makes you feel safer.

I am using the 64GB Samsung Pro Plus 95 read 80 write speed bought 2 years ago and is working fine. I also have lower rated Samsung and Kingston which also worked quite ok.

I am looking for someone to share if 256GB cards work on the Hero 5 coz I am getting 1-2 from Amazon during the Black Friday sales :)

Yes, as long as seller is Outdoor Sports Travel (Streamcast Asia, distributor for Gopro in this region) or Parisilk.

Does GoPro honor the warranty if purchase from qoo10?

You have to make sure that the warranty is from what the above forumer mentioned. Best is ask them in the Q&A, screen shot the reply before you buy. After you buy, quickly check for the warranty status online (haven't done this before) and if anything wrong, ask for refund if warranty is not local. Do not believe it is local even if they say so. There are some sellers will tell you it is warranty. It you have to go to USA website to claim etc. purchase with discern.

Been trying to us the go pro studio for video trimming. I noticed that after trimming the video at stage 1, the avi file only have sound and does not have the video. Is it normal?
