Gotch example?

But usually, if you need something specific, the advanced search should help better.

Nevertheless, I agree that this can be better.

But, more examples of this can be a good starting point for me to raise this for a functional advancement -- from an expectation vs. outcome perspective. There are loads of threads/posts, but what you expect vs. an engineer who's looking for keyword matches are very different things.

Happy to amass this as a case for improvement :D

They don’t want ppl to post duplicate threads but the search engine cmi

When you create a new thread, the system will also recommend if you want to post within an existing thread of a similar topic you are intending to create. May not have to specifically search for it separately, but yes, this is good practise.

e.g. Value Shop
as in the main thread for the subject above [me didn't bookmark that thread] :o

only after the 3rd page or so, then me could find
or is it b'cuz those 2 words too wide & varied? :s11:

had me used only the word "value" then it's definitely going to be problematic, needless to say :o

Think need go into advanced search to be more specific choose search by date then will list from newest first. The generic search won't.
Question is why generic search cannot sort by date as default ?

I dunno if it is me, but when I searched and tapped on order by date I seem to still not get the threads sorted by date.

I want to search for a thread started a few days ago by someone. But the search results show all the old threads from a few years to a few months ago. Results should be sorted from newest to oldest.
That is why sometimes will mistaken dug out old thread because same topic.. then end up.. literally dug out threads from few years ago....

I try to post similar post in same topic thread... but sometimes the thread too old and never notice...

But some users' profiles are set to privacy mode, cannot even access their profile page nor search.

Yes sometimes I do find existing threads this way,by attempting to start a new one then see what pops up underneath.
