According to one hawker that i know quite well, he told me his rent is S$ 500 from NEA. 2 stalls beside him on the same row, the hawker is paying something like 2000-3000 from subletting
NEA should be controlling these subletting. These stalls have to sell more expensive to cover the rental. They sell at higher prices, setting the baseline. Other stalls with lower rentals also match these prices.

Another overlooked aspect is the cleaning fees. How much are each hawker overpaying when only a fixed number of cleaners are deployed.

They raise taxes, then we learn from.a particular group of economic refugees from 1 country.

We don't even spend as far as possible. Just spend on real basic necessities. In the end see who die first. Once people goes into cost conscious and spend less, the habit will not change

Since reopening, I have been having our monthly family restaurant meals in jb and it is no looking back. I got better value for my $$$ there.
it's people like you who are making singapore become poorer, cause inflation and cause hawker prices to go up
by spending unnecessary money in jb, you are effectively contributing a negative net spend on our singaporean economy, directly causing a surplus in supply and therefore vendors have to raise prices to offset negative margins.

it's pure economics that's diffficult to explain and even more difficult to understand but know this, singapore is for your children. if you continue to drain their future economy, then what will you leave them with?

better vote PAP and give PAP the great mandate they deserve so they can fix the sheit you created!

If I had a choice I would spend in sg. End up support the hawkers or restaurants, they can drive big cars and stay big house.

Everyone raise prices, gov even increase taxes (gst). Money is getting smaller in sg, of course I need to stretch my dollar as much as I can.

I have to take care of my wallet first before considering for others. Let the landlords keep increasing the rental and employers depressing local salaries further, making things even more unaffordable till people are spending less.

saving money is like this, you save today for a better tomorrow.
by spending money in singapore you'll help the singaporean economy and PAP prosper which in turn allows you to prosper.
true, you don't reap all the benefits, but PAP did say, LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND!
don't worry if you pay a little more here and there, you'll receive a little more here and there and if you inculcate your children to vote PAP, then in future they will receive a lot more here and there because you saved money today and you voted PAP today.

so start saving money today, start voting for PAP today so your children have a greater tomorrow
and spread the word, most important is to vote PAP.

PAP! PAP! PAP!

Singaporeans don't like to see hawkers earn big bucks as they have no fancy degrees.

Singaporeans believe that hawkers are a social class of people born to willingly serve the rest of Singapore with cheap food and hard labour and remain poor.

Singaporeans will complain and boycott if there's a 50ct increment to their cai png, but will happily spend thousands on luxury holidays, cars, pets and labubu.

Don't kid me, spur the economy, gst and other taxes will still increase. I've been through the days when GST first started at 3% when I joined the workforce. Mid 90s is still considered better times, still can spend easily. Despite this, gst still increase to 9%.

Next GE, I won't vote for pappies, but I hope they win.
