"Hey that person looks like they're having fun, has a solid foundation, and knows what they're doing in life. Let's marry him/her and ruin it all for them."
I'm not saying all unions and marriages are like that, but it's very clear that some people marry others and cannot carry their own weight, let alone anyone else's. Their purpose is to leech, kick back, and let the other person mule until he or she reaches breaking point. I want this. I want that. Why can't you be like so and so's spouse. Endless demands. Endless comparisons. All the while doing nothing meaningful to contribute.
Charlie Munger said it best. That one, single, poor decision he made, halved his net worth. And that everyone walks around with signboards. Some signboards are blatantly more dangerous than others. Please go beyond looks, friends. Those fade. Like stocks, decide instead based on value and long term growth.
Read the signs, avoid the traps, stay single if you have to. Most of you are already working for someone else in the office. Don't willingly choose a life where you have to work for someone else at home, too.
