i3-3220 max temperature

Hi all,

just gotten the i3-3220 DIY system for my uncle, now running prime95 test on it. It is running for about 45mins now and the max temperature is at 72c and most of the time hovering at around 64-68 with the processor on 100% load.

Is the temperature ok for this chip?

edit: idle temp is at around 40-45c

yes 60 plus under load and 40 plus idle is fine for the chip if it goes a lot higher...can apply new thermal grease and clean the hsf

I see. Thanks! Was worried I didnt sit the hsf properly

Yesterday I tried running prime95 and the temp hover around there so I think its the max it will go?

For stock cooler, the temp is fine.
