I guess I have to carry around a paper clip in my wallet.. Ibasso DX100 is not stable.

I started carrying paper clip when I first got my "beta" DX100. The freezes are definitely lesser now after the recent patch and upgrade.

I have encountered about 3 times when I plug in my earphones before the music is playing and there is a loud feedback sound. Spoil my ears. :(

Waoh, that's a really high praise! For me, there are still some bugs which prevent me from giving it high marks.

It's been really diffcult for me to disconnect with the DX100 if you get what I mean.

describing the difference in graphics terms(since I can't really describe it using words that has different meanings to different people), the other sigma delta DACs feels more high color 16bit images with fix-order dithering and the Sabre dac feels more like true color 24bit/32bit images. The resolution is really top notch.

I only have praises and no complains on its SQ. So far, I have really enjoyed the hi-res tracks and it is so difficult to stop listening to it.

But like I said, iBasso needs to test all existing functions to detect any bugs introduced by the new firmware update. I noticed bugs that weren't around in 1st batch and they are kinda annoying, for example, pressing power button when playing music and screen is active will stop the music. Now I have to wait for the screen to turn off by itself.

I suppose you meant when you turn on the device? If so, that's iBasso amp's characteristic and they replied it cannot be fixed and is existing in all their amps.

Another thing about the dx100 sound quality, it has a uncanny voicing ability to allow me to hear how close is the singer is singing to the mic. I can tell if the singer is stressing his/her vocal chords or not. The minor position shifting in the singer's mouth to the mic is also detectable if i listen closely. But of course all these micro details can't be heard in a noisy outdoor setting.

.................... that sounds very tempting, love it when i can hear the minute details of the vocals. is it very detailed when it comes to the vocals? (e.g. hear the breathing, feels like in a concert hall if its a live track from a concert hall?)

Other than software glitches and low battery life (not a problem with me, i had lived thru s:flo2 =:p), any other quirks with it? damn... you guys make me tempted by this....

Yes it has a very resolving sound, it really recreates Live music ambiance, especially the spacial echos from the microphones. The background singer and audience comes alive with it, there's a sense that you are right in the live concert listening to the gig.

This is the first time I heard the background drummer mummer "1, 2, 3" before the start of chorus.

as for quirks, it has too many, but it plays the music so damn good you can forgive everything else.

But do note that all my impressions are done through DX100 > Custom Silver/Copper LOD > O2 amp > FA-003. So there's additional equipment in the chain, but these are all pretty neutral sounding.

Was listening to some live orchestra music and there is a part where I heard someone clearing his throat. :s13: This is from the Sony Z1000.

It actually brings forth a very good staging to the Z1000 as well.:s12:

mine was direct from ibasso 2nd batch pricing US$768+$20shipping. After conversion is around S$1k.

but now you have to get from Stereo or Treoo(both same price), but Stereo having some promotion now.

Jacky cheung's 吻别: the er hu section sounded shockingly real, subtle decay with fluidness that I have yet to experience before on portable rigs.

Now on dx100 to W4r in mrt.

if I'm not wrong, the stereo promo for dx100 seems to bring it pretty close to the current ibasso price after conversion.

I recommend all to go try out the Ibasso DX100. Bring along your own micro sdcard with your own songs(flac quality). You won't be disappointed.
