The majority of the ES9018 applications (i.e. AV Amp, Blueray disc player), there will always be an audio processor before the data input. The most commonly used control by the audio controller is to use the "Fast" roll-off filter when playing 16bit 44kHz materials, and switch to use the "Slow" roll-off filter when playing 24bit 96kHz/192kHz materials.

finally solved the DX100 lag!

*do this at your own risk, rooting DX100 is not recommended for novice or people who don't like risks

1) Root your DX100 using UnlockRoot ---- Simply root your Android devices
2) Install GPU Accelerator from Google Play/Google Market
3) Boost your GPU
4) Enjoy your fast and responsive scrolling list(as fast as Idevices)

Really hope the firmware upgrade will not sort the songs from my folders into albums by itself... it sucks...

Can use this app called "Android Sys Info" to check for internal temp of your Android devices. I have this installed on both my Sony Walkman Z and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0, no issues and works flawlessly. Temperature report seems to be quite accurate as well as my NW-Z1070 usually stays pretty cool (ard 32-33 degrees) while just playing music via MP3/FLAC formats, but once I switch to playing 720p full videos w/o any transcoding done, meaning it's been decoded on the fly by MX Player raw, it can go up to 36-37 degrees celsius easily within 10 mins. (slightly warm to the touch at the back)

Better not to use a silicone case since the bottom acts as a heatsink so you will feel the heat dissipate from below. =)

If you goal is to be able to hear music and to hear it as good as it can get and able to take it with you then the DX100 is the player. If you are into files being pretty and easy to file, want to run with your music, or long battery life or Wifi then the DX100 is not for you. I myself take it on my daily walks to work and to stores which consist of 2 hrs or more everyday in humid croweded enviroment.

I will say if you want your player to stay pretty indoor use then go get a case if you are on the go in summer weather well the DX100 will get very hot.
