my dx100 is stuck at 99% charging while burning in. not sure if that's normal or not.

Care to expand on O2 vs DX100's internal amp?

And that album is phenomenal. The Storm.

Hi Louis, think dqwong said it best :)

O2 amp makes the DX100 sound less grainy, there's a notch in the level of refinement to the sound. The darkness of the soundstage is incomparable.

Not saying the DX100 internal amp is bad, in fact, I agree it is the best I heard out of Ibasso.

i honestly don't think you'd want to wear your HD700 nor HD650 out of your house :s13:

hehe.. yeah. for home use actually. am more of an CIEM guy outdoors. For outdoors, looking at Heir Audio's 8.a. Gotta go one item by one item, cos money definitely no enough. :(

hope the battery improves with more charging cycles.

could do with a more stable software update as well. feels like a beta OS now with the quirks coming on here and there.

Imagine ICS for the DX100 :D

I tried my friend's O2 vs through the internal amp itself on the DX100. Like dqwong said, it actually refines the DX100 better. I find that the overall is actually being held back by the O2 though. Prefer it without the O2 but to each his own. :)

Battery life on runs around 6-7 hours.Poisoning myself now with Kitaro's Journey to the Heart IV.

The dx100 amp is more aggressive vs O2 amp for sure.

Vocals are more forward(as in closer to you), bass is stronger and has a richer, brighter sound.

The O2 amp in comparison, feels more relaxed to listen to. bass is not as punchy, but certainly not lacking power, just more controlled. The vocals have a sense of distance and the treble sounds balanced. Overall there's a improvement in the balance, but you lose some details/richness with it.

plug in for more than 12hours still showing 99% charged.

Ah, you don't have to worry about this then. It's just the way certain hardware works with battery charging on Android. There is never a true 100% charge as it might reduce the life of the battery, and it might be on trickle charge, thus never reaching 100%. When certain phones report 100%, it's not actually 100%, but they usually adjust the mAh to make people feel better about it.

Thanks, Vulpix. :)

Was a bit concerned earlier. Since usage was about 6+ hours, wasn't too worried about the battery meter.

oh oh. for my unit, been getting adhoc lock screen flashing (for a split second) on screen during playback. Also, going to album tab, the listing goes erratic from time to time. had to get out to main player screen and go back, to get the correct listing view.

it's a little irritating but the sound is sooo good, it's worth the hassle. :D

Finally sat down and created my test tracks playlist. Usually I end up missing one track or two and have to waste time ploughing through my songs. Now I'm ready for you iBasso. ;)

Quick go and grab a unit at Stereo while it's still available.

imo, despite the software quirks, the DX100 SQ is worth it.

It will be interesting to compare the O2 amp vs the Emmeline XP-7, I see both as dual 9V battery design.

Yes would like to do that too especially after both amps have been burn-in.

Right now compared to the DX100 amp, the XP-7 seems to bring out more details in both the highs and bass as well with this combo.
