For general use it should be fine. I tried playing DOTA on it and it was very smooth. Playing HD/MKV videos out of the box though is not good. I had to update the driver of the video card and install Media Player Classic before it ran smoothly. The keyboard and the screen is fantastic.

Battery life, I havent tested so far but based from one of the guys here it should be around 4.5 hrs on a full charge. Overall I can say I'm happy with the x100e specially at the price I got it. =)

One minor gripe though is that it doesnt have the num lock/numeric keypads which i didnt notice until I got it. Haha!
4.5 hrs battery life for AMD CPU is quite awesome.

Hummingbird0209: It all boils down to what you are going to use the laptop for. For me, it should be enough for what i need it for and the kicker is the price wherein we got it at. Hehe! Don't expect it to do a lot of things though.

I tried to play an MKV file while doing some downloads and about 3 tabs of firefox and yahoo messenger. The movie (which is about a 5gb file) became choppy at some instances.

One thing I noticed though, it wasnt that good when I connected it to an external monitor. Yesterday I tried playing some MKV files off my viewsonic 24" monitor and had some pixelations (very minor though). Now, I'm off researching again on how to fix this. I suspect this is just maybe a bios update or a driver update (again) to solve the minor issue.

4.5 hours is when one turns off WIFI, bluetooth and switches to optimum energy source mode-- which downclocks the processor and also reduces the brightness.

Personally, I find it OK since I use it outside just to view PDF documents, prepare ppt slides and typing word documents.

my T61 fan is producing sound, anything serious about it? and where can i get a T61 battery?

funan at the jazz1 or Addon.

Wait till you hear the normal noise produce from my t410.

you can check your warranty status, it might still be under warranty, cause my T60 warranty just run out few mths back, with some luck, it might still be covered.

Try AddOn Systems at Funan. I got my Thinkpad from them at a decent price last year and service is excellent.

Hi,
Need advice from all! THINKPAD PROMOTION - was quoted UPGRADE T410, intel Core i5-520M processor (2.4GHz up to 2.93GHz with turbo boost, 3mb L2 caches) 3 yrs on-site warranty for $2419.00- Come with the following feebies, Office 2010 and 4GB DDR3SDRAM - Is this a bargain or better wait for COMEX in sept? Without all the feebies it is $2200.00 thanks.

Hi Kweklj,

Maybe you can give us more details on the specs before we can advise if its a good buy.

1. Does it come with integrated graphics or discrete graphics? If discrete then 256 or 512mb vram?
2. Is the screen WXGA or WXGA+?
4. HDD size?
5. Fingerprint reader?
6. Integrated Camera?
7. Bluetooth?
8. Which Wifi card is it using? ThinkPad AGN or Intel Centrino series?
9. Is it mobile broadband upgradable?
10. Batttery 4, 6 or 9 cell?

I also find it amusing that the so called 'freebies' actually cost you $219 more. If its really freebies then you should be paying $2200 and getting the office and ram FOC.

Not a bad deal. Its not a die-die-must-buy-now kind of deal, but its still quite good. If you dont need the office then can consider buying the ram on your own since it would be cheaper and also since ram warranty is covered for life. Can also consider getting the 9 cell too if you don't mind the weight.

Happy shopping!

I think you should wait for Comex before you decide. But do check with the shop first how long can this offer hold.

Price and bundle is quite ok, though if having a WXGA+ will be a bonus.

Agree with u to wait for Comex. Probably at Comex it will come with a few hundreds dollars cheaper. Offer has been on since 28 July and will end 23 Aug. Can advise what is the difference between WXGA and WXGA+? thanks.
