Hi kweklj,

Yup, go for the WXGA+ and discrete graphics, especially if you are used to a big desktop. If you are using something smaller now, it may take some time to get used to it because of the small font size. I remember making my switch from 1024x768 to 1400x1050 and I had to practically put my nose to the screen...haha. But its a good thing once you get used to it.

Since you'll be plugged in to power most of the time, the nvidia card will also really help with it comes to graphics, games or 3D stuff. And if you are on the go, switch to the integrated gfx to maximise battery life.

Best deal yet...go for it. :)

Good thing u bring screen resolution up! I am presently using a 14" HP Compag Notebook with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixel and may not be comfortable with 1400x1050 for real-time streaming of the stock market. I like big font size and dont go for games etc Cheers!

t410 keyboard only requires 2 screws to be removed and there is NO PRYING involved.

the 2 screws are the cover for the ram area and then the keyboard holding screw inside.

just slide the whole keyboard towards the screen and the tabs under the palmrest should come out allowing you to lift the keyboard up and out of the laptop.

hi all,

I have an X201 Tablet i7-640LM 4GB DDR3 250GB 5400rpm HDD with multi-touch screen, 2.0MP web cam, fingerprint, and 8-cell battery.

It's opened but not used. Decided to let it go coz I am getting an iPad instead. Will throw in the sleeve that's customized for this tablet worth USD99 http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/...-category-id=DBA092A7A5CD4E598362EF6B5A5A916B

Looking at BNP of $3,000 exactly or your best offer. Warranty is 3yrs international up to June 2013. The retail price is worth beyond $3.6K.

This is the top end model.

My contact number is 98593780.

Wow...good deal. Hope you manage to find a buyer soon. I'm just wondering if you'll have a tinge of regret selling it after using the iPad since it doesnt have a keyboard, the battery is irreplacable, storage is fixed...:s13:

Well, I will be setting up a virtual desktop and get it hosted somewhere, so physically I will have another thin client for me to act as a "desktop":
http://www.chippc.com/company/index.asp?p=8640238333

I hope iPad can still synchronize via RDP....gotta try that out before I commit into iPad.

The X201 Tablet is a great tool, but too expensive for me to swallow comparing to other alternatives....if $$$ is not a problem, I will keep it....

Lenovo provides a software under ThinkVantage GPS. It installs automatically once it detects that the card is in the system. With it, you can see the satellites available and connection. The typical apps that you can use the GPS is Google Earth or Bing Maps...etc

BTW, really sorry about the delay. No news from the factory yet. :(

hi guys,

i'll be getting a t410 soon. im looking at an option of having a travel bezel in the ultrabay as a weight saver. is the only way to purchase the bezel (FRU #45M2657), through the phone number they provided on their website? or is there any authorised retailers carrying such parts?

i know removing the drive makes not much difference to the overall weight, but well.... it's just a consideration at the moment :D

have u tried holding the actually optical drive in your hand?
it is so light it you dun feel any difference at all... not even 100grams, lighter than many mobile phones in the market.
have lotsa users wanted a weight saver like you, but after feel the weight of the drive just nvm.
instead those who take out the optical drives are for the 2nd hdd bay adapter or battery

Bro, no point honestly. With or without optical drive, you can't feel much difference.

If you are thinking of removing the drive to save battery power at the same time, ThinkVantage Power Manager actually has a feature for you to enable to power down the optical drive when you are on battery.
