Yes, got such enclosure. You can check with the Lenovo resellers to see if they carry the drive bay.

Seriously don't waste money.
SSD price is still very high $/GB.
You can be sure SSD will replace harddisk in the future but why pay so much just to get the technology now?
It is not as though it is a very vital link.

after 3 months of on the move usage and frequent freezes due to the airbag disk protection kicking in, i killed the platter harddisk in my t410. bad sectors started showing up.

bought a 60gig ocz vertex from vr-zone as i didnt want to wait for amazon+borderlinx. so far ssd does live up to its hype. programs really do launch faster. will have to use it for a few more days to see how it holds up to my usage pattern.

will probably get a esata enclosure for the replaced 500gb harddisk to use as backup storage.

I have collected the SP poly roadshow thinkpad w510 , they mentioned its 4 years NBD warranty . but when i check in the system it shows only 3 years and limited warranty.

Does anybody face the similar issues

ThinkPad 410 (2537RZ8) after a few weeks of shopping around was today offered $2299.- including additional 2GB, Office 2010 and Norton Antivirus. Hope this is the best deal. Cheers!

I recall seeing a similar query some time back. I believe it takes some time for the vendor to update the warranty, so check in a few weeks time again. Else you can contact the vendor and check with them. There maybe some other details, so you should read up the previous post several pages back.

You should check it online not in your system. Go to lenovo.com or upgrade the toolbox. If still shows 3yrs, contact thinkclub.sg and they will upgrade for you.

If your laptop was bought out of the roadshow dates (I heard the booth was there for a few more days), it only has 3yrs warranty.

my x201 i5-540, everytime only give me 9x multiplier juice 1.2 Ghz only.
i googled and they say is auto boost but i wan it to be at full 2.54GHz
anyway to twig and fix it at the speed.?

Check your settings of the CPU speed in the Power Manager profile to see if it is set correctly (CPU performance = 100% when on power).

yup bios also max performance, speedstep enabled
running AC always 1.2GHz

That is why I always remove the OEM installation.
They always include useless crap that interfere with the OS.
As if they useful functions not under Windows Power Management.

Uninstalled... now is hover between 9x and 10x lol...
will frequent and continuous changes to the multiplier affect the cpu life?

No CPU multiplier is a way to cut down power consumption by providing sufficient CPU Cycles when requested.
More CPU Cycle per second = more power consumed.
Check Windows Power Manager, Advance Power Plan,Max Processor State and or Change power plan.

Just wondering What's the different between the X201i, X201 & X201s other than the processor speed?

And from the website, they state that the X201s does come with a optical DVD drive, is it internal or external?
The x201i comes with a 7200rpm hdd, would it be good to get such a fast hdd and will it consume more batt life?

Lastly, I read in a few USA website that the i7 chipset x201s is cheaper than the i5 x201, is it true?

What's the price you paid for your x201 and what's the freebies?
