Yes, the X61 and X220 are both SATA harddisks, but I would advise against it as the drivers on your X61 would not be compatible with your X220

I thought that the X61 HDD height is 9.5mm whereas the X220 HDD height is 7mm, so you cannot just swap HDD.

Someone selling a X220 at $1350. Processor is i5-2410, compared to the i5-2430 on the Lenovo website. Is it a good deal? Why is there a difference in the processor?

There are refreshes for the X220. Both the i5 and the i7 have been upgraded. I know that the authorised resellers have the refreshed i5 in stock but the i7s will be coming next week.

I just asked over the weekend because our company is looking at a couple of X220s.

Just want to share! I just received my MyDigitalSSD 128GB mSATA SSD from the US, courtesy of my cousin returning home. I am surprised that the actual size of the mSATA SSD! Only slightly bigger than 2 S$1 coins lined up.

Installing the mSATA SSD took about 5mins only! Removed the keyboard & palmrest, inserted the SSD, screwed it into place and replaced everything. Recovered the software using the factory recovery discs, updated everything before adding the HDD and wiping it clean and using it as a storage media for photos/videos/etc.

The mSATA SSD really made a difference in terms of booting and loading of programs! Did a few runs using Crystaldiskmarks and my results are:

Hitachi 320GB 7,200rpm HDD


MyDigitalSSD 128GB mSATA SSD


Amazing difference and definitely a worthy purchase becayse you get the best of both worlds, fast and lots of space!

you mean can just buy warranty extension (3 years) for 119?
