The last few days my X220 has been playing emotions on me. Auto on and auto sleep. Call up Lenovo and they asked me to drop to any Singpost FOC. I am not keen to let Singpost handle my precious X220 so I decided to go to their service centre. They still engage IBM to service their thinkpad at Changi Business Park. When I went there , they greeted me and listen to my issue diligently. As I have company data , they even offer to help to copy the data to my external HDD or send in with set without the SSD. They even offer to deliver the repaired X220 to parkview square for my collection. Fantastic. After all the documentation , they even ask me whether I drive and give me complementary car parking. I was so impressed with their service that I told them that I picked the right brand

They do know how to provide real good after-service! Once i had a keyboard problem on mine, and they came over to my place within the next morning, promptly, replaced the keyboard no questions asked. The technician was even kind enough to note that my battery was having a high cycle count though it being relatively new and replaced that too immediately. Was really impressed.

i really hope they dont outsource their service centre to other crappy provider! now my office almost 90% using think pad and think center! no hard ware issue encounter, cross fingers!

Had a problem with the ram on my colleague's X220 whilst on-site. Rang Lenovo out and the technician came to site and replaced the RAM at no charge. After which, the CS rang us up to enquire if there was any problems after a few days, to check on the status.

A T61 keyboard went wonky and again, they despatched a courier rider to send me a new keyboard within 2 hours. The only question they asked was if I knew how to replace the keyboard so they don't have to send a technician down.

My boss's T410 screen started having vertical lines. Took a photo and sent to Lenovo's CS and they emailed back that they have ordered a new screen and the technician would come down and replace it the next day. Took 10mins in total to replace the screen.

Kudos to Lenovo's service!

Their service is pretty good. My set went in for service last month and they also asked me if I want them to deliver it to Parkview for me. But I declined as I know sometimes they do not quite take note of the small details (ever got new scratches after my set came back from service). So I prefer to check carefully there.

Anyway, the service center is no longer run by IBM. They have since outsourced it out and its handled by a third party now.

It's review, mostly on its reflective screen and battery usage, just hope think pad won't go n cOmpete with ultra book and came out stuff that are useless for corporate purpose

most wu hau is its include the docking stations and 4 yr depot warranty (if im not wrong its IWS right?)

Has anyone tried reinstalling from a backup file using Lenovo's Enhanced Backup & Restore function?

I am thinking of updating my mSATA SSD's firmware and what the firmware will do is that it would wipe the SSD 1st. My plan is after upgrading the firmware, I use the Factory recovery disks to bring the X220 back to its factory settings and then reload my latest backup from the Enhanced Backup & Restore program.

Any thoughts on this please?

Is the NUS x220 offer worth it? Wanted to get a new laptop primarily for the software (will use both Office and Abobe), but it just looks quite expensive, and now I'm wondering whether it's better just to pay for the software outside.

Also trying to choose between ultrabase and mini dock - right now more likely to go for the latter as I have several thinkpads (one of them is 7 years old and still good!).

It is very expensive. Good thing is its comes with Adobe and Office. Else, I think it is not worth.

You can just download CCleaner and then use their uninstall functions to remove bloatware and then run their cleaning function. It should remove most dead files/registry files.

Hi Shawn,

I am currently running the setup that you mention, mSATA SSD + 320GB HDD. I am also using the MyDigitalSSD 128GB mSATA SSD. I opine the that you should get the 128GB because you can never go wrong with a bigger mSATA SSD.

As for tutorials, you can search my posts on the matter. I have posted them before.
