Hi All,

Want to repair ThinkPad T61 'Fan error'. Is SLS or Funan a place good for servicing? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Did you try unclogging/cleaning the fan? Sometimes, clearing up the dust would help. Do you get this error on startup?

Yes. I got the error on startup. I try not to open the laptop case because I'm not really the expert.

press esc to bypass the error. But make sure your laptop is well ventilated

Save a trip to SLS and your money first. Follow the instructions on page 69

After removing the keyboard, you'll be able see the fan. Clean it up as much as you can and make sure that there are no obstructions to the blades. Good luck!

Hi bro,

So buying thru Amazon checkout can pay by using Singapore-issued local credit cards you mean? All people have to do is to provide a valid US address besides the 3rd party forwarders used or given to us, right?

anyone managed to buy from lenovo US?
have tried amex, standard chartered, amazon checkout. All doesn't seems to work. Is it due to credit card used or due to the comgateway address?

Lenovo probably blocked all purchases that ship to comgateway. Have to use an alternative US shipping address. Try looking for 'personal shoppers/forwarders'...lots on ebay

How about the credit cards payment portion?
Do I need to apply the UOB US AMEX card in order to make payment or does Amazon checkout works with singapore credit card?

I have tried Amazon Checkout with my standard chartered card and shipping to a friend's company address in OH but it still fails the transaction portion.

Like I said on my previous post, you need a US issued credit card or use buyforme service from forwarders. SG credit cards do not work with Lenovo AmazonPayments anymore.

Nope. On the lenovo checkout page, the following error came on after i click the green "Order" button:


(Unable to authorize your transaction. Please select another payment method to complete your order.)

Currently I am using Ericsson F5521GW on my X220. I am planning to get a WWAN card for the T430S. Can I use the Gobi 4000 AT&T in Singapore? Is it sim lock or can it be used on the current LTE frequency? I can't seems to find the website that shows the current LTE frequency radios for Singapore telco providers.

Anyone have an answer to the above?

There's only one unlocked 4G WWAN on the whitelist and its the Ericsson H5321GW 60Y3297. Can try looking for that. It's only half height, so need to get the adaptor to fit in a full-sized slot.

I know there is one shop in SLS Level 2 which sells OEM batteries. It's at the back lane. Escalator walk up, go straight, turn left and turn left (Don't go into the wrong shop and buy the wrong battery ok - you will know what I mean when you go there ).

thinkpad t61 supervisor password forgotten

My clever mom didn't wrote down the password from her work laptop and the administrator that set that password doesnt work where she works anymore. Can someone help me solving this one out. I already pulled out the bios battery and now she cannot use the laptop because of the stupid supervisor password.
