Is it cheaper to buy the T450s at the online lenovo store?

Physical stores seem to be selling at very high prices

Anybody had any luck buying from lenovo US? They don't seem to accept SG credit cards and third party forwarders have lenovo under restricted companies so we won't be able to use the buy-for-me services to buy their notebooks.

Students buy got cheaper?

Poly student pricing but I dunno if the offer is still valid. Damn nowadays poly students good life laptop technology has matured such that they can choose Dell XPS13, Asus Zenbook, Lenovo X1 Carbon or Macbook Pro.

During my time each brand offers crap choices :(

I'm planning to buy x250 with 500gb hdd then upgrade my own 500gb ssd.

Is the ssd size standard? Where can I get help to replace the hdd as I'm not confident to open up the cover and screws..

Lenovo US website can do more customisation for x250. Local site really limited options hais..

I wanna get 16gb ram and 6-cell battery as customised model. Local site no such option..

I struggled. Easier to get someone to buy from like Lenovo Australia (which actually has some pretty good stuff not available in SG) and then carry it over. Better yet they'll get GST back too upon leaving Australia.

How do you guys feel about Lenovo Thinkpad ? Still as good as IBM Thinkpad ?

I used before both, the Lenovo one don't give me that "IBM Thinkpad" feel. Like very ordinary laptops out in the market...

It depends on which version you intend to buy. The X1 Carbon 2014 version is a major flop, thanks to the adaptive buttons, but the 2015 version is very much improved. The keyboard is still one of the best, if not the best out there for notebooks. Still not as robust as the original Thinkpad but good enough.

To share with all....

I had my Thinkpad T430 for business use and everything is ok but when it goes into my 2.5yrs, the HDD just crashed suddenly one day.

As this is under warranty (my warranty is 3yrs) so Lenovo will change a new HDD for me but then I gotta fork out a sum of money to recover my important data from the old HDD which they will not recover for me.

Change of HDD is fast, today sent in for replacement, tomorrow can collect and all OS reset in the factory original condition.

Does X240 support mSATA ? I can't find any video on installing mSATA drive for X240

If not I was thinking of putting a SD card as a secondary storage
