Please escalate the problem to lenovo care. I think it's your system problem. W510 and T410 are using same wifi card. I untick "let computer turn off..." in device manager and it's working fine. Are you sure you checked??

yup. done that.

Still no use. Not sure how many people is having this problem.

LOL! so weird. My W510 is fine though. Did you update latest bios?

Yup. Done that too.

The engineers decided to replace the wifi tomolo to "TRY" fix this problem. Cause even the lenovo forum page are having this issue popping out.

That is why I said there is NO SUCH THING as built quality from branding...
Choose the problem free models instead.

I can only say that my AS4740 model now can be considered problem free except 128MB eaten up by the disabled Intel HD graphics.
DEP is fixed and I am running OpenSUSE with Windows 7.
It is a ok laptop a bit of gaming but probably can't handle intense ones but I didn't buy it solely for gaming only.
I find Acer's Linux Compatibility quite good.
Their hardware is seldom locked down and use very generic (common) parts.
My OpenSUSE looks like OS X except it is much better + Free

Anyone know what to do if I am facing extremely frequent DC of my wifi connect?

I cannot stay online for more than 10mins without it getting DC

Any solution?

Happens recently only? Or like that since day 1?

im a w510 user and im getting quite frustrated and angry. today when i went off for dinner i shut down my laptop and there was 16 updates. i thought it was normal and i updated it. now when i start up it goes to the microsoft logo and it then just power down itself and restart. i checked and my ac was plugged properly and to make sure i even put in the battery. i cant get into the lenovo rescue and recovery to do a system restore to a date before the updates. it just goes in and the green bar with windows/microsoft loading and it powers down again. this is not a first time an update messed up my laptop. the other time it automatically updated it restored my laptop to factory settings although programs were there bookmarks and desktop shortcuts all gone i had to restore back then.

its a school purchased laptop(polytechnic) and im afraid to use the CD/DVD that restores the computer to the factory settings.

escalate to lencare. because as wat other users said, it could be a batch problem... usually i will troubleshoot by setting 5 for the roaming and stuff... worst case scenario change card...

i got the same wifi problem as well, but its not as often la. considering my laptop is connected 24/7 to my home wifi, the wifi gets disconnected every 3-4 days. my fix is to right-click the wireless icon in the taskbar, then "troubleshoot problems" or something like that, then win7 will restart the network adapter

i was thinking if i can write a batch file to automate this. hmmm

using 3 yr old t61 btw

Indeed you can write a batch with this. Just do a ipconfig/release then ipconfig/renew. It's the same as troubleshoot problems.

Give chance the engineer needed to go to the IT Show...:s13:

:s13:

Bad la you... I think so... HAHA

Just wrote in to complain already. But I believe they going to ignore single user.

I only have 6 technical issues that I have reported, only wanted them to fix one, they also dun care.

Best of all, they do not have all the spare part for T410.

So if one of those parts were to spoil. Good luck.
