Between the T470 and T480, I read that the T480 has a quad core whereas T470 is dual core. On theory, T480 is a lot faster than T470. But under real life usage, I can't testify.

Btw where you see T470 for sale? Lenovo site?

Carousel. Hahaha that's why I placed emphasis on the warranty. I wouldn't dare get one without.

Hi clyp1973,
the X1 carbon you bought from the US.
Did you buy a 3 pin plug from SG to replace the plug from the laptop you bought from the US?

i didn't bother buying a 3 pin plug. Been using mine with an adaptor. Looks really ugly and sometimes not convenient to plug into sockets. Any idea where to get the 3 pin plug?

T490 is expected to be a minor model refresh. Nothing fantastic. I posted a link to the first look at the T490, can scroll up to see.

Sim Lim square sells those cables alright. Plenty to go around. Just open up and check you have got a 13A fuse.
Also, it seems like a smaller battery as well as no removable battery?

T490 open up for presale...

T480 / T490

Ram : 4GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM / 8GB DDR4 2666MHz Onboard
Battery : 3 Cell Li-Ion Battery, 24Wh, Front / 3 Cell Li-Polymer Battery, 50Wh
Rear Battery : 3cell Battery 24Wh Rear / N/A
Wireless : Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 2x2 AC, Bluetooth Version 4.1, vPro / Intel Wireless-AC 9560 2x2 AC, Bluetooth Version 5.0 Onboard

Main difference for me would be the Ram and battery. Paperwork doubt the wireless makes a lot of difference.
If I were to get the T480 and upgrade the ram to 8gb, is there any significant differences? Also more than likely to get the big rear battery for the T480.

Pricing wise. base version T490 is $6 more expensive.

T490 vs T480 should have some major change. eg, no more second battery feature, no more hard disk option.
