@ duntellu - Sim lim tower retails mainly electronic components, not really computer modules that you are looking for. You can try the authorised Lenovo shops and see if they can offer you anything. Cheapest place so far is still at the local lenovo website not sure if they have stock or if that price includes GST though.

Thanks Goh for the speedy reply,

was hoping to find a face to face shop rather than dealing with ebay sellers.
At the very least, I can save on the days waiting for the package to reach me.

guess I have to go to the ebay sellers then.

Anyone can advice..

Is this a normal Sympton.

Using a X61 Lenovo Notebook.
The base of the notebook is very very hot.
The Keyboard handpad area is also hot..

Is it something wrong that I need to send the notebook for service?
Anyone can advice?

What's your definition of hot?

Has it been the case all the while or it happened recently.

Download some utilities like PCWizard to read the temperature of the system, CPU and hard disk.

@ Twilight - Can you determine if the fan is working? You should feel a draft when you place your palm near the exhaust vents. If you don't then most likely your fan is not working. One of the major causes of heat.

Honestly speaking, feel that its useless. Once the laptop is lost, and the person boots up, 99% of the chance is he has no intention to return you the set.

First line of prevention is still to safekeep your precious laptop (and also other personal belongings).

I am not a tech savvy guy, Even after setting up the HDD password, but how easy is it for people to access your data when you lose the laptop?

What is the best way to buy Lenovo products? The Lenovo shop seems to cater to only US purchases.

I think that is provided the system is able to detect the fault and prompt you an error during BIOS POST.

Thinkpads need those "certified" and special cards to work. Are those sold for Thinkpads?

Hi Goh, my T410's warranty should last for 4 years as I bought it from my poly's roadshow. However, the website shows that the warranty expires in 2013 .

Type: 2539
Model: A12
S/N: R91T3RL

Thanks !
