Thanks bro, figuring out this problem with a loan set really help confirmed its batch issue.

Actually, i think non of your customer are using Client security solution ver8 (CSS), because its not pre installed. only the password manager is installed by default in the image.

in order to have the CSS running, they first MUST uninstall password manager, then only they can install the CSS properly.

only from there, they can activate the TPM. from there they can setup the Single Sign On function (SSO). because I setup lock for the whole system, cause in case I ever loose my laptop, i dun think i want people to be able to view anything confidence that I might have at this point of time

I dun think many people is using my method of turning on thinkpad. Which I swipe my finger on the fingerprint reader, the Laptop will power on and log onto windows on its own. Even my dell E6400 needs to press the power on button before i can do SSO

With regards to the batch that having the problem. Lenovo still have no gotten back to me on anything yet. Going to call them on monday again...

I am using your method. I have Client security system. Where i activate my hardware security. I also use wake on swipe :) I also have TPM activated. That's why my previous post asked what kind of TPM. There is intel security and hardware security.

Why didn't you escalate the problem? since so many problem you should report it. maybe even report for small claim tribunal.

yes bro. everything that can have a password to lock the system is locked.

a bit of KS... But when you loose the system... You know they might not be able to access your data and use the laptop for themselve, or sell it away.

bro... I hate to be rude, but what is the purpose?

It have nothing to do with the on board wireless system. even if it does not dc, it does not show whether the card is working or not. Cause its a totally different wireless system.

unless u can advise us what does this test will show with regards to thinkpad system. than maybe its worth to give it a try. cause buying a extra usb card is out of the question. and its not supplied by Lenovo.

no point borrowing a usb card cause its even harder to find from friends, its 10 times easier to find a WWAN card.

No worries about your tone. What I meant is that while waiting for Lenovo to solve the DC problem, why not use a USB N wireless adaptor in the meantime. I see that some of our fellow forumers here are getting so frustrated cos they paid a premium for their machine and Lenovo service engineers are unable to resolve the DC issue. The fact that they paid a premium means die die they want the DC issue solved. Point is it cannot be solved and thay are unwilling to accept any other solutions. Why suffer and get so frustrated! Just use the USB N wireless adaptor (if it works well) and make do with the batch problem till it can be resolved. Alternatively, sell the machine and purchase another set. Seriously, if one can afford to pay a premium for a Thinkpad, surely it's not an issue to replace one's notebook.

Anyone know which shop in Singapore can do a reflowing/re-balling of the Southbridge chip for T4x series? Otherwise, any repair shop that is known for specialising in repairing thinkpads other than the service centre at Changi :).

Hi folks, anyone using the Intel turbo memory on the thinkpad? Thinking of upgrading my os to win 7 to make use of it but not sure if its worth my effort.
