can you share where you buy your lenovo from ?

option 1 : local dealer ? if so which shop ?

option 2 : lenovo us website and ship back using vpost ?

option 3 : or this website which help you to buy from US factory :

link : http://www.seeseelooklook.com/thinkpad/index.html

I am thinking of getting a x201 but cannot decide if i should buy from option 2 or 3

as i want to get a 500 gb harddisk and also the choice to be able select the network card to have a 3x3 antenna,

also like to buy with the gobi with gps card,

with this config, i think i can only go with option 2 and 3 but a bit scared of buying online and ship back using vpost as i never done it before,

then option 3, i wonder if the dealer is trust worthy or not,

can anyone share your experience if you use option 2 or 3

actually all the local dealers are authorized by lenovo to sell thinkpad. so no to worry about being chopped. price are share across all dealer. but the free gifts are different.

u can buy from US, just make sure is international warranty. they are so much cheaper...

@v1hypersg - Westwest is right. If you have any friends or relatives going to the states, then buying from there would be cheapest. Haha, I'm happy to say that seeseelooklook.com has yet to be flamed anywhere yet, but don't take my word for it, you can check with lazyclimb who won a bid to an auction i held previously for a T410 :s13:

@sic_moimoi - More info on t410 battery life here..hope it helps

My battery's condition is now degrading. Possibly the 500 charge cycles lifespan is somewhat true.

Was using the laptop a moment ago; battery was at 30%~ or with 34 mins life remaining(Batterybar pro) when suddenly the meter dropped all the way down to 5% and the laptop went into hibernate, which it is supposed to do upon reaching 5%.

After booting up again, batterybar pro reported 16% wear, up from 10%. A few weeks ago the battery was at 0% wear.

Age of battery: 15 months
Cycle count: 410
Watts Remaining/Actual factory wattage: 47130 mWh/56160 mWh

I just bought a new 6 cell battery for my T61 yesterday, but the moment it reached 100% fully charge, the battery capacity degraded from its design capacity... (from 56.16 to 56.02)

Is it normal? it is still reasonable if the battery started to degrade after 10 charge cycle. It was its first charge and I haven't discharged it yet...

Amazing that your battery can last so long with 0% wear. :D

I think it is about time to get a new battery though.

Mine degraded after 2nd or 3rd cycle counts too. Should not be too worried.

Is it supposed to be degrading that fast? And I haven't started to use it yet...

In this rate my new battery will turn from 'good' condition' to 'poor' condition very soon... :s11:

haha not to worry lcd benzel only has 4 screws.

i think i get it. the FRU isnt meant to be fully installed. it has extra stuff -.-"

i believe this is due to having cards (esp wifi) that has differing number of connectors therefore you install the correct antenna part based on which expansion parts you are using.

:s27: this also means the cost of this particular FRU could have been halved if they split it up so i wont have to buy the parts that i didnt need. paid a little over 100 btw.
