Let me know if you succeed in doing this. I tried to extend my warranty twice but Lenovo US rejected the purchase.

The purchase will go through initially, but after 2 days, they will send email saying something like "the product is not available".

after struggling at the lenovo us site for a couple of hours (amazon box not loading, amazon credit card purchase error, site simply $@!#@#$ crawling, etc)

i finally managed to get the transaction through.
they've made the $1 test deduction on a new credit card number (decided to try my luck with a different card)

but i'll probably have to wait a couple of days to see if the same problem you had will happen to me.

go funan check? or just call them up (local retail stores).

the same model number can have quite a bit of variation, especially if you order from US website.

(but i think it's rare to not have hdmi on notebook nowadays)

The T420 has no HDMI port. It uses the DisplayPort instead.

Hi everyone, I just received my W520, and upon fixing up the battery, noticed its slightly loose -- wiggles 1 to 2 mm...

Anyone has this issue? It seems to be a common problem with W520...

I have a slightly loose X220 battery as well. I just fixed it by adding 2 pieces of tape on the battery before sliding it in.

Comments from other users in other forummers were that Lenovo allows some "play" between the chassis & battery to allow battery expansion due to heat.

You can find it in SLS I presume. I purchased mine from ebay. About S$10.

base warranty "extended" 3 years. so that means actually add 2 years from original date, carry in.
they still list the original date when i log in. but will say that i have an upgrade, which is due 2 years after the original.

if you are concerned about price, you should try asking friends/colleaques/neighbours. personally i think it's common to have this extra at home. unless they very neat everything throw away.
try showing different pictures of the same thing to them? google image search.

something like that could be in a cardboard box, cables tied into bundles, with no packaging. price written on the box with marker pen.
really bargain bin haha.

try the shop near the ocbc (i think) autolobby inside.
can try the basement shops selling cheap components also.

alot of TP user like the matte screen as it is less straining on ur eyes as compare to glossy panel.

Oh well its special matte screen IMO is different from other matte screen. If I increase the brightness, it will be kind of straining my eyes If I decrease the brightness, I won't be able to see the words. And you may ask me to adjust until it is suitable for me, but I just can't find it =X

Also my desktop screen is also matte but the resolution looks a lot better and doesn't strain my eyes... Are there 'types' of matte screen?
