Really depends on how much memory you will need. 2 slots in T vs. 4 slots in W. They share a lot of common parts. System service parts - ThinkPad T530, T530i, W530

15-incher T is an anomaly though. Seems to target US market where 15" is more popular.

Further more, T530 was on sale and cost US$600 less than W530. So price was in my consideration too.

Thinking of getting the w530 which uses DDR3 1600 RAM. I've spare 4 x 4gb of DDR3 1333. Will there be a noticeable performance difference if I were to install the 1333 RAM? Thought of saving money by using my spare RAM instead of purposely buying4 x 8gb DDR3 1600.

It is very difficult to give my beloved X61 a second life as it is a 5-year old machine...sigh..

Try this one... he has successfully repaired 2 of our notebook's mainboard issue, give him a call and ask him on the phone before going down to his place...
