Not possible for you to be a first timer since your OA was used for your parent's flat.

You will only be a first timer "family" if your partner is a first timer.

Privileges for first-timers

As a first-timer applicant, your housing needs are more pressing. You will enjoy greater priority and other privileges when you apply for a new HDB flat, DBSS flat, or EC.

Couples comprising a first-timer and second-timer applicant

You will also be considered as a first-timer family, and will enjoy the same priority benefits.
huh?
already made down payment 4 years back

If im not wrong, you can still bto, but within 6 months of getting the bto, you have to sell your current property. Dont quote me, please write to HDB for black n white.

Issue here is once you disposed your old property, you need to look for new flat for your parents or if you are happy to continue staying with them.

Actually I was in a similar situation also. Bought over my parents house. HDB mentioned if one never take any grants, and never take HDB loan, then one will still be eligible for first timer status. So I took bank loan and never take any hdb grants. Was able to book a BTO flat with first timer status, now waiting key collection

can even BTO now either if TS is >35yo or have a partner
just take 5 years of duration from applying till TOP, 60 months, the AI plus PA by then already past $80k ,so set $1400 monthly aside solely just for it
wedding expenses and daily expenses not included

if the completion time is longer ,even better so TS can save up more

Ok I stand corrected.

I guess the grant is the key to whether you are first timer or not.

This one I'm not so sure can BTO within the MOP period or not eh. That time we can BTO even within the MOP if the BTO completion date is After the MOP. But I remember the HDB officer mentioned the rules will be changed such that you must wait till AFTER mop then can apply BTO.

Best to check with HDB

I talk with agent, mine is special case still can get 1st time buyer grant. Just that, only issue they need to return the amount i already contribute...
This should be right. Not sure about 1st buyer grant, but the AHG still can get as long as you never get before.

If you take out your name, there's a void, someone has to pay it back.

Is it case by case basis or die die i cannot own 2 HDB?
If you put your name inside, you WILL LOSE your ADVANTAGE as first timer applying HDB from government, unless policy changed. Coming from olden days(year 2000) experience.
