Yes, I agree, Buddha's exposition on rebirth is not trivial. There are actually a lot of other supporting concepts to learn first in order to make sense of that. but in essence, he taught all these because he saw that human beings suffer in life because of specific causes, and wanted to help them in their journey of being liberated from their suffering. His primary role is a teacher (a very wise and enlightened one).

Human beings suffering could also be a test. To Muslims this is a temporary world. YOLO. Dont be surprised if you hear some muslims praise God even misfortunes befalled on them. To them is a test of faith.

Yes, I agree with you. Suffering is a test too. This does not contradict what is being taught in Buddhism or even other religions. I personally feel it is important that we take all of life's difficulties in our stride because that is the only way we know for sure that our spiritual growth is heading the right way.

You are right. We choose the religion according to where we want to go or not going anywhere. I strongly believe that all the religions have evidence to prove to their followers of where they will be going. If not, their followers will not entrust themselves to their religion so confidently. All are true but it's our choice to believe which is the ultimate truth. For instance, I am a Pure Lander, there are so many true cases and evidence that followers have been reborn in Pure Land. Erm, not sure this one is which theory, care sic?

So far there are few theories out there. Those from so called alien interview ones got quite some logic, but also cannot be verified. Since human are by nature doubtful of most things that are beyond their comprehension, and there are many things that are beyond human comprehension out there.

Perhaps especially more so for the ordinary (educated) people, who tend have far lesser knowledge of the truth out there, but like to think that they know everything, nevermind their limited knowledge. Thus more suspicious of things, won't believe as long as not within their scope of understanding.

For the prison planet theory. Not only its mentioned in one of the alien interview. But its (or rather human) also a subject of study by one of the (forgot exact but think is) more scientific people of sort. The findings seems to hint that human origin most likely not from this Earth.

Take some examples, (modern) human cannot straight survive the harsh environment and weather Earth have like the animals do. Animals can go under the sun whole day also no issue. But human skin and such will start to have problem if too long under the sun.

Animal stand whole day also no say leg pain back ache. But human stand a little long have aching. Therefore think human generally are not that well made or suited to Earth environment. Have to change the environment and use external aids then can survive better on Earth.

Thus from all these signs it somewhat hint that human probably was not origin from this Earth. But why was human then put on Earth and lock on Earth. Thus think the prison planet of sort was also theorised from these clues.

I think earth is more like a experiment lab for the Aliens. Maybe too even for some of the Alien criminals and also Alien creatures.

And maybe too they send some of their Alien 'explorers' to intermingle with humans here and reproduce too for the sake of human genes to be more intelligent.

The question is if these Aliens die do they go to the same place where we human souls go too?

Human faith is not an on/off switch. It takes time to develop the faith, and that is only if the seed exists on which faith can be grown. Since every person's circumstances are different, the journey of faith would differ as well. Thus a conversation about faith that is centred on "You must believe otherwise XXX" would become one-sided very quickly. Evangelisation is about listening as much as it is about expounding/preaching. No one wants to suffer (now and in future) if they can help it, and people resist changes because their situation prevents them from understanding/accepting. Patience and sincerity are key.

When the various religion teachings and precepts are teaching good and evil then that is good in a way to control them and there is law and order. Heaven and Hell is one form of wisdom that apply to that standard hoping that more humans would be more civilized and obtain an intellectual knowledge of being kind, compassionate, respectful, peaceful, harmoniously loving for one and another on Planet Earth.

However, if things get too extreme until humans unable to achieve that standard of living together peacefully and harmoniously, I think something or someone would intervene and probably reset this world with a new human species/clones to take over and reigned this world until the history of human becomes like myths/scientific articles like in human evolutions or the extinctions of Dinosaurs on earth. I guess

The concept of prison planet seem to tie in well with life’s suffering.

Everyone suffers to a big or small degree and eventually die = leave this prison

Nobody can truly say they are enjoying life lah matter how rich
