I'm a teacher and a parent and honestly, i cant deny there is indeed a difference in a normal neighbourhood sch, 'popular' sch and 'branded’ sch

of course there is difference.
You want yr kid to co study with atas well behaved driven kids or bunch of monkeys.

Any adult will know this else why top schools are so popular

I tot someone say all schools are good schools ?

ALL SINGAPORE schools DO NOT OFFER same cca, same compound size , same facilities, same amount of homework (usually better schools more homework) , same level of difficulties in exams. Spelling n WA , outings and etc .....above already打破MOE proclamation of " all schools are good schools"

Eldest - St Stephen’s, St Pat’s, Temasek Poly, NTU business (In St Pats, gave me lots of problems, smoking, bullying, playing truant but got better when he went to poly)

Middle - St Stephen’s, VS, VJC, waiting to go into NUS Pharma Science after NS (not much problems in VS, boys are generally well behaved)

Youngest - KC Primary, KC Secondary, most probably will go to poly as her results have always been quite average.

Not top elite schools that they went to. Overall, just minor teenage problems in their secondary school years but I trust that they will find their way.
I think your involvement and presence as a father (I guess) also makes a difference.

You being there and perhaps constant reminders and family concern and love definitely helps nurture the kid well.

Basically good school = Liverpool academy and lousy school = Crewe Alexandria academy.

In theory a talented footballer can emerge from any academy.

But if you are from Liverpool academy, you probably have a better chance of going into a PL or Championship team even if you cannot make the Liverpool squad.

The underlying difference is the SES of the student population. High SES students do better because of better resources at home and better parental guidance.

If possible, surround your kids around with high SES students.
