hello guys.
going to get an imac 27" replacement n hijack this thread.....

is it worth to top up for the processor to core i7?
i'm thinking of upgrading to core i7 since core i5 like ...... will it be very outdated after 3yrs?
plan to get applecare so will be using it for 3yrs like that.

The core upgrade is not as significant as the GPU upgrade. The core upgrade hyperthreading is only meaningful if you do a lot of processing.

how does yr imac shipping box looks like when its being delivered to u?
like those youtube unboxing?
imac box (everything sealed like screen etc) sealed and put inside a brown shipping box?
singpost deliver them>?

What is Ur 27Imac condition like ?
Any image retention issues...?
Yellowness ?
Bleeding?
Made in China or US set..?

Image retention will be hard to tell now. My rMBP has it after 6 months.

Condition is very good when delivered. No Yellowness, no bleeding. As you can see from my shipping details, it is made and assembled in China.

Yes, everything in the brown box first. Then inside is the iMac box. Screen is covered with white plastic sheet and clear plastic sheet.

btw so custom made all from China one? assembled from china since i see so many ship from CHina. read abt a post here n went google. seem that there's assembled in US too but guessing probably thats for their domestics market?

Btw anyone has any idea if u buy optical drive with yr imac & applecare, the optical drive is it within the 3yrs warranty coverage too?

oh btw mouse/keyboard r covered under applecare warranty as long as it comes with yr iMac!

Ok, for example, if I am reading HWZ forums (which is white background), and then I switch to an app with grey or bluish (say, remote desktop), I can see the words on the HWZ forum.
