Buy land overseas? But no country will sell it as sovereign land

Merge as special economic zones? Feasible, like the jb sg sez
Colonise. Loan money and have land as collateral. Support private individuals or GLCs to buy land.

Sg country land is enough for our own people but need to expand to take in other country people. Some country so much land but their people move out and take up other country land.

just SERS/VERS all the old HDBs and you can instantly at least double to triple the population living in the same area. It's a conservative number 2x or 3x because the space between blocks are huge .... and the storeys are only 12th storeys.

Target of 6.9 million population can be achieve easily just by doing that without touching any other land.

Connect all the buildings at the 3rd or 4th level onwards ... to provide seamless pedestrain pathway across buildings ...
do this multiple times and you have connected a town above ground..
and all the ground level will be mainly roads and shops ... but pedestrain dont cross on the road level, they go up to level 3/4.

MRTs, carparks can be above ground or underground... that is another good B1-B3 of spaces spanned across a township.

I'm pretty sure this will be the model city in Singapore in the near future. This is drawn from my description in NANO BANANA. SUPER GOOD! BUY GOOGLE!

There is only so much SG can reclaim land within the internationally recognised and accepted boundaries. There is also only so much population such land can accommodate. Assuming SG can gradually increase population beyond the projected 10M to approx.15M (as an example purely for discussion purpose) with a controlled yet near optimised manner to benefit the economy and provide fairly balanced comfort to the general population. After that what‘s next?

In addition, doing this intensive increase in population within this limited land, any screw ups will have significant impact on the population living the country. How will the people react? Will the people hold the government responsible? And in what manners?

End of the day, there is so much land the population can live on. One fine day, we have to face the reality that the country will need more land. The issue then is when will we have the political will to face this issue squarely and objectively.

Or will the world move beyond the concept of “countries?
Just build taller buildings.

very convenient for residents too.
live, eat, work, play all downstairs and upstairs or connected across buildings.

imagine can jog from building to buildings on top with fresh air and greeneries... park connectors and all that...

the supply of office and retail spaces are abundant and will allow new entrants to come in with fairly competitive rental from all the landlords (or rather THE landlord if they want to moderate rental on a sustainable basis while creating new entrepreneurs)

SG has a lot of growth potential. Look to China with their mega cities.

SG still got so much green space to expand into as well.

50 years from now SG population will be easily 20m as long as it keeps doing well financially.

Yes no need travel anywhere. All in one mega complex. Can build water parks. Ski resorts. Amusement Parks in the complex as well.

Do you know Judge Dredd? Those mega cities.
Next time SG will have.
GCBs will be worth trillions by then.
