the renaming is a stupid idea imo.

UK and Malaysia still use the RP nomenclature. probably another one of those scholar COL/General's idea of 'rebranding' and 'rejuvenation'. great idea in the PTE/Commercial sector but stupiak idea when applied to Public Service.

How to build a strong military tradition like that when you anyhow rename vocations at your whim and fancy?

I realise you can write long sentences without punctuation.

Did I deny anything? Everybody is using the new term but you're still stuck with the old one? O.O
Im aware that there isnt such a rule on hardware zone stating that we need to write in proper, complete sentence.

As to whether "everyone" is using such a terrm when i was at A**C, all the regulars are still calling us by the old term, i do not know where u get the statistic of "everybody using the new term", but i think you just made a sweeping statement.

Like Potatoe says,UK,US and the rest are still using the term Regimental Police but as far as i know Singapore is the only 1 using the new term. While SAF is not a commerical organisation, I personally do not see the need to "re-brand" our soldiers. We are there to do our job and leave, we do not need to show other people that we have "rebranded" troops.

While i agree with the inclusion of new equipment, techniques into the force, let us all not forget that 8 SIR is still a very new unit and alot of works needs to be done before it can be considered as a "security trooper coy"

Even though i already orded last year from 8 SIR, i do not feel a sense of attatchement to the unit.

Now, Back to the topic of 9 SIR

Well, it's very subjective for or against the change in name for the vocation.
