Installing windows 10 os using USB drive help

Installing Windows 10 OS using USB drive, I am currently using Asus B350 Prime plus with the latest bios 1002

My question is if I buy a 64gb capacity to use to install the OS , the mobo can detect it?

Secondly which brand and model you guys recommend , reliable long life most important which everyone hopes for besides actually I am using for other stuff too.

Can detect. Just set boot sequence in the BIOS.

No need to get 64gb. Because once you convert it into a winOS installer, you cannot use the thumbdrive for anything else. Just get 4gb enough.

Brand wise doesn't matter. I using cheap no brand thumbdrive that I get from attending conferences as a OS installer.

Can use the thumbdrive. Nowadays for windows 10 iso can be created by windows media creation tools software. They dont make it into a os installer. Im still using my 128gb thumbdrive with windows 10/pro/N in it at the same time using it as thumbdrive.

Well actually the minimum amount is 8GB. Did burn in to my 4GB thumbdrive. But they daid not enough...

Just get a USB3 8GB/16GB Ultra Fit (small physical size) as the USB installation drive and avoid using it as data storage/transfer drive to avoid virus transmission.

I don't use O/S installation drive as data storage/transfer, once installation done, chuck it one side hence I seldom use more than 8GB for O/S installation.

Brand and write speed doesn't really matter much since we are not using it as storage, any USB3 thumb drive can give you decent read speed as an O/S installation drive.

Ok , I wasted too much dvds to burn those OS , now use USB drive faster and save dvds

4GB for 32bit or 64bit, 8GB for 32bit and 64bit.

ah no wonder that's explain why they required 8GB thumbdrive.

cos i just download the iso as per normal not regarding of the 32/64 bits

I check my win 10 pro 64bit iso only about 3.1Gb so 4gb thumb drive should be enough already ba.

U can use the Thumbdrive for other things as what others mentioned. If u not confident with it, perhaps u can just add in those motherboard drivers inside as a folder for quick access if needed. Right now the lowest capacity u can get is probably 8GB at $7.90 liao

If the thumbdrive is reformatted to act as installation drive, will it get cranky if we put other stuff inside? It would be similar to putting additional stuff into a Windows CD.

No it will not get cranky. It will just ignore the extra contents unless you modify the installation script etc.
