Want to ask,
My card some times on some paywave machines will have error one first scan

sld i get it replaced?
such replacement is chargeable?
Me encountered also. At first thought its amaze card issue. But 2nd tap is successful. So suspect is the communication between the bank and the terminal instead of the card.

Anyone noticed amaze fees are getting higher and higher?

just brought something for EUR 517.95
XE rate showing SGD 762.50
AMAZE charged SGD 783.70

in other words difference of SGD 21.20 or 2.7%

USD transaction
644.26USD
charged 876.67
XE rate 861.44

in other words diff of SGD 15.23 or 1.7%
Use the Mastercard rate and add 1.8% (at least for USD):

https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/personal/get-support/convert-currency.html
So far it's been 99% spot on for me.

Just paid USD 392.42.

Paypal rates : 546.89 SGD
YouTrip rates : 526.18 SGD
Mastercard rates : 525.17 SGD
Amaze rates : 534.62 SGD

So Amaze is 1.8% higher than Mastercard rates. Got 500 points for foreign currency and x10 miles for CitiRewards Card.. Still better imo.

Hope this is not a silly question but, lets say i link my Mastercard credit card to Amaze card, when I go overseas and use the Amaze card, do I have to activate overseas spending on my Mastercard credit card? TIA

Why not try Trust bank, it has zero fees.

Don’t be narrow minded. zero fees means you get nothing

with amaze you can easily get 4mpd.
as the for “fees” they charged I notice it was quite high something like 2% BUT recently I just earn enough points to redeem $20 from their store

just FYI foreign spending will give you points which you can redeem for cash.

not to mention, better for cashflow as well.

with all of the above, AMAZE is definitely still a better choice

agree with the trade offs except for cash flow, Trust has a credit card too.

Why would anyone want to apply for trust cc? What do you gain/benefit from it? (pls don’t say 0 fees)
Low FX spread and easier to deal with fraud especially when traveling vs via Amaze (would not have bothered if not for the huge PITA when having to get a charge back done with Amaze).

More so if the place you're traveling to (USA) still uses magstrip for the non chain restaurants.

Maybe because I dont have Citi Rewards card, which seems to be the only card which you can make 4MPD and only if you are miles chaser it makes sense. If you are just going to use it as cashback, then the yield is lower than the fees I guess. I am certainly not going to pay 2% higher only to jump through hoops to get back that 2%. Might as well keep it simple and stick to zero fees.
