What I meant is that similar to Grab top-up, the MCC for Amaze top-up is widely excluded so can’t gain anything out of it.
If Amaze top-up accepts Amex, there may be a use-case to use Amaze wallet for things that don't give grabpoints,

Been using it for a while for my overseas holidays, saves me the hassle to top up and no $5K limitation unlike other multi-currency wallets. Didn't face any fraud issues with it either. Can buy Chanel in Europe hassle free! :ROFLMAO:
Also thinking to use Instarem or youtrip for the coming Europe trip.
Btw, beside ,’ON’ the cross border transaction, I presume also need to ’ON’ the in-store purchase and the magstripe transaction.
Also do we need to activate the oversea usage for the that credit card that is link to Instarem?
Then usually does most shop in Europe accept paywave/ goggle pay For payment?
Thanks in advance.

Yes for cross-border and in-store.

Not necessary for magstripe as everywhere in Europe accepts contactless and/or chip. Only US still uses magstripe in some places I think.

No need to activate overseas usage on the linked card either as Instarem transactions are considered "local".

Used the Amaze card for my recent europe trip. Not bad and am impressed. the fx rates is attractive and no issues with the card transactions. Usually I “block” the card in the app when I reach back hotel and “unblock” when I start my day. I prefer this to YouTrip as I don’t need to monitor my wallet balance since Amaze links directly to my Mastercard. Last time YouTrip only got $3k (?) limit and have to top up manually when balance runs low. Very troublesome and always end up with odd balance figure in my wallet that I can’t take out.

In terms of FX spread, I find Revolut > Youtrip > Amaze (Instarem gotta earn from larger spread to cover foreign cashback incentive).

And I've shunned YouTrip as a foreign spend card. I was stuck with a locked card that couldn't be unlocked for 3 days, and stuck with £ and € because their currency exchange wasn't being acted upon even though the slider thing worked and a successful message shown. What did it for me was their non-existent support. Their hotline isn't 24/7. And when you eventually get through to a human, they just hang up on you without uttering a word. Email supports gets back to you in 3-5 working days. Utmost shambles.

Imagine trying to deal with them for fraudulent txns ☠️

the use case for Amaze makes more sense for overseas for linked credit cards that gives certain rebates or points. so while the FX might be slightly lagger behind in rates, the underlying card rewards are good to beat, including tt Amaze Card now only give InstaPoints for overseas uses (equivalent to 0.5% cashback)

With Amaze having ewallet, banks may start to exclude amaze totally like DBS

not really, since mcc 6540 already excluded

the MCC code for amaze wallet top ups are already in most bank's exclusion list so they're alr taken care by the tncs.
Bank exclude base on MCC & Merchant description also too just like UOB exclude amaze transit only ,they introduce ewallet will bring forward the death if bank decided to follow DBS style blanket exclude tgt both ewallet and payment vie cardlink

it's living on borrowed times for a while alr so whether it hasten it (i doubt it will) bcos those exlusion by merchant name would have happen earlier or in the making. let's just say, what most ppl knows alr, make hay while it shines.

You need to enable online transactions for Amaze card.

Just added my replacement Amaze card to Grab, and withdrew my cashback.......haha
just check if you replaced your card is cos of faulty card? my physical card now can't even use chip or paywave, totally undetectable. online still fine.

was there a fee for replacing damaged card? did they change the card number/reissue a new card number in the app and how long did the card took to arrive? bcos i still need the card for some upcoming overseas payment

Just receive emails informing me of 2 transactions that I have not made. Both are just above USD1000 each. Have since locked this card through the apps and email Instarems.
Have also call in to inform the reference bank card. Unlike bank issue card which I can call in easily... Instarems do not provide such service. Wonder how soon can I receive their reply. Will probably not use this card anymore.

Did u use the card overseas recently? Few users some pages back reportedly used their cards in Malaysia before receiving fraudulent transactions

Yup... use it mainly during a 1 week trip in KL during mid June. Also use it during a 1 day trip to JB at end June. If this can happen to Amaze, it should happen to other credit cards as well right? Any known or suspected reason that made this card is more vulnerable to other credit cards? Thanks.
