It is Sunday. No markets are moving today. Even if the the transactions were not done close to each other you should get the same result all day and from yesterday till today too. My understanding for these is they fix the rate for 48 hours over a weekend and 24 hours during a weekday so time between transaction for amaze and youtrip is not relevant then either … the only cards of this type that have fx moving in real time is revolut and maybe wise yeah? And even then it is just happening during the times the fx markets are open. Not trying to be overly academic over FX rates. Today instarem did better than YouTrip. Oh
minutes apart transaction

also you hilariously you are wrong with todays vnd amaze rates being better than utrip … you have confused yourself with rounding on such a small amounts and missed fact that if utrips rate was really 16,660 your price on 41k vnd should have been 2.46 (easily verifiable).
youtrip has actually used a rate of 0.000594 directly from mc online calculator which when rounded up to nearest cent to gives you the $2.44 sgd. but because they are idiots and have some how screwed up their vnd terms number on gui you have a incorect display of 16,660. 0.0000594 when inversed correctly to sgd terms is actually 16,835 which is actually what they are actually working with in the back end and quite a bit better rate than the 16,785.7143 amaze hit you for and if you had done a purchase of significant amount it would have been apparent because with bigger numbers not being so volatile to rounding and the numbers would have stayed true.
note on mc online calculator 41k vnd = 2.44 but actually 4,100,000 = 243.54 so you been tricked by the differences rounding of small numbers.. 2.44 / 41,000 = 0.00005951 but 2.4354 / 41k = 0.0000594 which maps to the mc calculator exactly but is rounded to whole cent against you. There seems to be a bug on their gui becauseIf they had really used 16,660 they are displaying as their rate 41k vnd would have cost you 2.46 rather than 2.44 sgd right? Ie 41,000 divide 16,660 = 2.4609
so in conclusion 2 things are happening firstly, youtrips gui is displaying wrong rate compared to their observable underlying calc and youtrips real rate today was actually better than amazes today who are clearly slipping a little cut into their vnd offering versus the mc online calculator which itself is already 15-50 bps over spot when fixed back on Saturday morning around 3-4 am our time.
academic vigour is needed teehee! If you tell us what the exact nominal vnd amount is on the amaze transaction i can tell you what fishiness they are doing there
