Can anyone help me here? I am in Korea and I have both Amaze and Revolut physical cards. I tried pay at shops but Amaze card keep failing saying it decline due to security and risk policy. But Revolut just work well. Anyone knows why?
Revolut think about issues they hear of and solve them … amaze does not.

exactly my same situation my Amaze did not work even once in Korea during my 2 weeks there lately. PSA and FYI.

my original planned priority of cards before travel to korea:
1) Samsung Pay (contactless)
2) Amaze
3) Revolut (+ $350 ATM withdrawal)
4) DBS Debit Card

After realising all the problems:
0) Samsung Pay (contactless)
0) Amaze

1) Revolut (+ $350 ATM withdrawal)
2) DBS Debit Card
3) CDC Crypto VISA Card (ATM withdrawal) <unexpectedly used 1 withdrawal as my original intention for it was for lounge access>

there was a few times all my cards failed, had to use cash to pay (once was last day and i had gave all my cash to cashier, and had to withdraw more cash at convenience store ATM) that's why earlier i mentioned to you at Revolut thread it works 9/10 times they're very not friendly to foreign cards at korea throwing all my card tactics out of the way especially by Amaze not working at all. over there foreign cards can only either use chip or swipe and Amaze will not accept this 2 methods somehow.

Did you check whether the in-store, magstripe and cross border transactions are all turn on?

because i have alot of value inside Revolut to use off. i thought 2 FX cards were enough but Amaze was useless during my trip.
Can consider topping up Youtrip with your excessive funds in Revolut.. Especially for Weekends use..

I think the question was asked because Amaze operates on an MCC whitelist, so transactions at a lot of hotels (which sometimes have their own MCC) will fail.
a bit strange when he say all 5 transactions failed, maybe he can clarify if he did activated cross border use for Amaze

I have never had a problem with Amaze in MY, even for pre-authorisation of petrol. I think he forgot to turn on certain settings lah

In India most of my Amaze transactions are working fine. India also has the tap and pay upto Rs 5000(~=$100SGD) and tap works just fine like Paywave in Singapore. A few terminals didn't work and the error was "International cards not allowed", so I think it was setting on the terminal rather than Amaze card problem.

i remembered i did not turn on online purchase when i attempted to pay online … i also get the error security and risk policy … so i guess u did not turn on cross border purchase and in store purchase?

Actually I like this security "turn on, turn off" feature of Amaze. Learnt my lesson after incurring a S$6k fraud on Amaze.

Since then, no fraud has occurred on my amaze (fingers crossed)

Was that $6k fraud fully recovered?

Eventually yes, it was fully recovered but dont just depend on Amaze.

File a report with the credit card issuance bank too. During investigations, some banks are willing to give a temporary credit to offset the fraud charges, so you dont have to pay anything while waiting for the resolution.

Haha learnt? what lesson did you learn? If you lose money on a fraud the lesson you should be thinking through is what you did/ and may be still doing that allowed it.

The thieves are not guessing your full details, card number and ccv … you have exposed details them in some manner although it may not be obvious how and the card needs to be replaced as the only option.

Other companies like revolut have one time disposable Virtual cards for internet use to stop your main card even needing to risk an internet transaction exposure, they also have location security option where they block transactions made in any location you are not present based on your phone and so that is whole other world stuff compared to amaze offering which is just having a basic mask over the mastercards security functionality.

Revolut send approval requests to your app for certain types of questionable transactions and better still as a front line defence thieves can’t steal 6000 if there is only 200 sitting in it which seems a whole lot better that a yes or no fiddle switch on your full credit card limit that amaze offers. And credit 6000 k is as easy as a button push with revolut anyway.

The lesson you should have learnt from this fraud event is a behavioural one for a game how you use your cards in the world.

You should be able to throw away a card instantly it is compromised and still function seamlessly on a holiday with the same company situation without needing to fall back to other companies … can you do that with amaze ? Nope your cc is maxed and their new card takes ages to receive and the whole process is clumsy

but with revolut you can. You can go sfar as to get back up cards in advance kill your first card and away you go to the bar to give away your details again with the second lol. You can also get a new card delivered to you within 48 hours globally and chat with intelligent agents when there is an issue.

Peoples greed for a few cents of cash back seems to have mushed the brains.

oh you can also block you cards with thw same on off switch haha
