seems workable for me, have other cards to settle non travel expenses
I chose food and travel for UOB. Travel category harder to clock, but most other credit card don’t even allow travel (airtic or hotel)

same for me too. and sometimes when you dine in restaurants at hotel, it may be charged under hotel MCC which falls under travel instead dining so still can get rewards

Yes, UOB is my 1st card for dining for this reason...esp when some restaurant are high class and they are part of hotel which might not be obvious..

Did anyone have issues where overseas hotel can’t complete transaction via Amaze (with UOB lady’s as the linked card), But when use UOB lady’s card directly it could work?
I just had this happen twice while in Chile, don’t understand what is going on, checked Amaze app and everything looks fine but it does not even show the rejected transaction.

Amaze have glitches sometimes.
Was embarrassed at the cashier once cos I tried switching all the cards in the app but didn’t work also. Was working just 10mins ago in another shop.
Ended up using trust card directly.

Contacted Instarem, they didn’t have any record of failure transaction for the specified timing.

Seems like common issue with Instarem. Can be really embarrassing and frustrating esp if there are long queue.

worst is Instarem not aware of the transaction.

tap, chip or swipe? maybe you didn't enable swipe. honestly I have never encountered a rejected transaction through Amaze

Tried tap first, didn’t work, then tried chip and it also didn’t work. The hotel receptionist also tried both “credit” and “debit” card settings.

thanks all, sounds like it’s a “known issue” but I guess nothing can be done to fix it.
just embarrassing but also annoying when the whole idea is to reduce fx costs while earning 6mpd…
the lesson here is to make sure to still carry the underlying card eg. UOB lady’s even if you have amaze physical card (as I thought it could help reduce # of cards I had to bring around for different purposes like dining, travel, insurance etc)

with citibank is around 3 - 3.4%.... (instarem is 1%)

Yes I did, in fact it worked a week ago with OCBC TR card also.

lol that is true, but just felt bad to hold up the queue/ check-in process by asking the hotel staff to keep trying multiple times

My Agoda transaction was blocked this morning at 2am.

I purposedly linked to my uob card yesterday as I was anticipating this deduction from Agoda.

Wrote to instarem they claimed uob blocked the transaction. Havent write to uob as their customer service usually super slow anyway.

Anyone else encounter this before?
