Of course i dun mean 'best' in terms of 5* hotel service. What i mean is the quality of service between private and public hospitals. Even forumners here have lamented the long waiting hours(>5hrs) at A&E to see a doctor and get admitted if necessary. Plus if there's a need to see specialist, it's even a longer wait. If u dun wanna wait long, go to pte hospital. But what if someone is poor and needs to see the doc urgently, and has some form of life threatening illness? How long wld he/she have to wait? Plus with the doctors, nurses and specialists being overstretched, the quality of care given may be compromised. I agree with u C class ward facilities are adequate.
Why is there a huge difference is the quality of service between public and private hospitals, especially of long waiting times? Why is the poor discriminated in such a way? That's wads wrong with our healthcare...
Of course many would argue that u get what u pay for, but healthcare sld not be treated as a commodity, as an economic good...
