Apologies for spamming but I feel that this needs to be seen.
PSA: Guys never buy from Invader pc, my build was buggy (suspect mobo issue) and they have horrible aftersales service.

When I sent my 2 weeks old pc for repair, they misplaced it and did not update me until I came down to check. Then they had the cheek to blame me the customer for it + the existing pc issues.

Went down to their office and it was a horrendous mess, PCs everywhere without clear storage or categorization. No wonder they misplaced my pc.

I bought from them as I had heard aftershock has bad service, end up they are even worse.

DO NOT BUY HERE, you have been warned.

When my laptop is under warranty, I can't fix issues myself and have to rely on the technicians. Unfortunately, that often leads to poor repair jobs. With desktops, I handle everything myself and get better results.

I’m not criticizing anyone for buying prebuilts, but there’s a common misconception that prebuilts come without headaches. That’s simply not true. If you're considering a prebuilt system, it's important to manage your expectations for aftersales support. It's not necessarily worse than other options, but it's far from perfect and you should be prepared for that reality.

You know recently someone here been played dirty trick by AS also.. just check around the zen 5 thread..

Usually, most people will recommend to DIY because there's no way it can go wrong if you manage it yourself.

DIY PC is something that i still do for a good reason, and i will continue to do it regardless of $ i make/month, because the services are provided by cheap hires who earn $2000 a month that don't give a damm about your PC.

True especially many service center are manned by outsource.
Whether these technicians are experience and properly trained only customer will know.
When comes to DIY, usually DIY is recommend for IT savvy people.

Not say choosing parts but any issue you will at least know where go wrong.
Which is why builders like Aftershock are there but their aftersales is very lacklustre.
Thus more and more people opt for 3rd party repair outside.

Not a popular opinion but for those who are less IT savvy, DIY may not be suitable.
Can consider ready pre-build like Acer Nitro, Lenovo Legion etc. gaming PC.
These PC at least any issue you can call for repair which are usually quite trustworthy.

Downside of such PC is limitated upgrade path like RAM, SSD etc.
Graphic card may not be able to cuz usually these PC uses very standard OEM PSU.
Acer PSU uses proprietary connection for their motherboard so not using the standard
24 pin.

Point here is some treat builders like Aftershock like Acer, Dell or HP. :s13:
Service standard is vastly different, major companies have ISO standards they have to comply with.
Does Aftershock or Invadar have ISO standards? Doubt so.

Thats 1 of the reason I still choose to DIY my own PC and my children PC too.

Yeah, the issue with many PC builder companies is poor hiring and inadequate training.

From what i observed, all these builder companies usually have weak leadership which is the cause of the problems across the entire organization. One look at most of their portfolio, its usually these things.
  1. Weak academic background (low GPA or irrelevant degrees).
  2. Little to no technical experience.
  3. No portfolio or personal projects.
  4. Lack of industry certifications (those requiring proctored exams).
  5. Coursework if any, are limited to a few beginner Coursera course, not even completing full specializations (they are lazy af).
  6. Work history limited within the parent or sister company (special hire through connection).
In contrast, real tech companies hire people with:
  1. Relevant academic standards.
  2. Basic technical foundations and principles.
  3. Personal projects that showcase hands-on skills.
  4. Recognized certifications from Microsoft, AWS, Google, etc., earned through proctored exams.
  5. Coursework that are at least on the intermediate to expert-level.
The people from latter could easily outperform those staff with YOE in a short period, the difference in talent quality is stark :s13:.

The first thing I thought when I visited their warehouse was: Alamak this place badly needs some kind of Kaizen project to implement 6 Sigma. Really 0 management of products after they are assembled.

It’s unfortunate that in many builder companies, even if things look organized on the surface, it’s mostly done for impression and marketing. The internal processes are almost always a mess.

Project management, ITIL, and ISO standards are taught in formal education related to IT, but from what I see, most managers in these PC builder companies don’t have the relevant education, so they are not aware of these things.

Those who bothered would have at least easily certified themselves as these exams are not even hard (its the least they can do when not having formal education), but you know laziness really is the problem here, and it shows because their work experience is either in a sister or parent company.

I can give example, like someone with a marketing degree managing a service center because of "connection", with their skillset and knowledge being completely irrelevant.

Another example, you may have heard, logitech ceo.

These people got no business at where they are sitting.

Is quite common incompetent people on top heading a company thus leading to
poor product and services.
Often is wrong people they choose thus leading to issues after issues.

Like you say very basic in reputable IT companies you must attend at least ITIL and ISO standards
courses.
But these bosses don't see a need for it so long company build PC and push them out
is all that matters.

Than any issues or customer complaint than the PC either come back or go somewhere else
for repair.

True it starts at HR as well as recruiters, people in such job usually are paper pushers.
They don't really understand what is required to work in IT roles especially handling
projects, hands on experience.

Most of the fake ones can only last 2 year, because what happen is they will be questioned throughout this period by employees which are more qualified than them (its easy to be).

I saw that some managers even got mad because their credibility was questioned infront of everyone (marketing degree, no IT/Engineering background)? What are they even doing in a technical department.. :s13:.

If they get exposed in one company, then jump to another department or join a sister/parent company, because they got connection with the company, specialized treatment taking inflated titles :s13:.

I actually know one who claim to be a SI team lead for web app but can't even name anything related to a technology because he got totally no background, shamelessly stealing others credit and insulting all others who has put in the effort to learn & work in the field :s13:.

i also builder myself. i not highly educated but at leas i went to a company to be a SI for more than 6 years for some other high end system.

some of their pay is really low and u know cheap pre build means cheap parts cheap labour too.

i will wanna say for pc builder. u better pick someone that build pc for a living instead of someone so call build pc for passion.

Carousell so many so call "passion" and "hobby" builder. how many legit cannot make it u guys got eyes to see as well.

MANSA are they any good?

I ordered from them just before covid hit, all in all it was delivered on time and till today (3+ years?) the system been working flawlessly and everything was delivered as expected. But mine is pretty straightforward system, no water cooling or anything too fancy.

I used both TUF Gaming B650-E Wi-Fi and TUF Gaming B650M Plus Wi-Fi, both are good.

You really had bad luck with the company.

A friend of mine just wanted to get a pre-built but didn't want Aftershock after suffering horrible customer service previously so told him about Invader PC.

He got a pre-built but custom order with his favorite HYTE Y70 case, custom liquid cooler choice, custom all white build with a 5090. He mentioned the communication with the invader pc team was quick and smooth. He received updates about his PC built through whatsapp and got it delivered in 3 days to his door step.
The price was good also. I tried calculating the price and it cost cheaper than buying parts at SLS and build himself. That was last month.
After 2 weeks, one of his Lian-Li ARGB fans had no more RGB. Known issue with Lian-Li fans. I went with him to help him send the PC back to invader service centre because it was rather large and heavy. They brought it into the back and got it fixed within 30 mins or so and we brought it back to him place. Very impressed. No other issues after that.

Also when he received his PC, i went to his place to check it out. I checked bios settings and checked benchmarks, temperatures and they did everything right. The cable management was also really good.

Other time, another friend's Aftershock PC had issue where a fan on his liquid cooler has died, we brought it to Aftershock at 1.30 pm. We asked if we can wait to collect later in the evening on the same day because only 1 fan need to be replaced. But the front desk lady told us it'll take 5 working days and we need to leave the PC behind. Gave us a service slip and told us come collect another day. We already left the place and went home. Then at 5.30pm same day, he got email that his PC can be collected. Sadly won't make it there unless he rush down so had to collect another day. It's hard to take leave to go back again during office hour to collect la.

Edit: I am not saying Invader PC is good or bad, but at least their service center got things repaired fast instead of telling us to come another day to collect for a simple fan replacement.

Aftershock is like that, which is why many opt to repair outside.
At least don't need to wait a week or so for the PC to be repaired.
Like you mention simple change of fan should be able to be done on the spot.

But is not like that cuz Aftershock have their SOP that means customer have to queue
up and wait for the PC to be repaired. Whether it is a simple repair job or not
doesn't matter.

Aftershock PC often uses cheap component the fan is mainly from Tecware which
has poor relaiblity. Often users use less than a year the fan spoil so need to replace.
But take note for those who are not aware.

Some Aftershock build their AIO cooling if it is using NZXT or ID Cooling which has
such brandinging on the cooler. The fan was swap with Tecware cheaper fan
thus the AIO cannot cool properly since it is not using the radiator fans
that come with it.

I encounter many times the NZXT fans are not included with the build, not sure
can post picture here at least for awareness.
I did help my friend question where are the fans, they say it is inside.

But I show them the fans were not NZXT fans but their own fans so where are the stock fans.
Point here is please ask them for the original radiator fans as I think because of
RGB lightining.

Thus they take away the original radiator fans and replace with their own.
Thinking it is OK won't affect the AIO cooler while in fact it does.
Tecware fans doesn't blow air at all, is more for show and bling bling effect.

For any Aftershock user please take note of this.
