Thanks for the heads up. Wanted to try dark mode. Guess I'll wait.

Sent from Google PIXEL 3A using GAGT

Tried ios 13 beta on xr
Battery drain very bad (expected)
Dark mode not really black.. More like grey mode
The swiping on the keyboard is disappointing. Swiftkey is better
The safari have bugs. The reachability is not able to function properly as the safari moves left and right when u swipe
Reachability cancels out The hide toolbar function
Only pro is face unlock is faster
Overall is disappointing despite all the hype

I actually don't understand the hype over dark mode. The next iteration of both Android and iOS are bringing system-wide dark mode. I get that it saves battery... But I find light/white themes more pleasing to my eyes. Haha

good for u that u prefer light themes. old liao, eyes can't take so much white n brightness in e UI.

What bugs did you experience?

1. Unable to google cast from YouTube/Spotify.
2. Sometimes links/buttons of webpage in safari/qoo10 not working, until you refresh the webpage.
3. Sometimes FaceID fail to recognize repeatedly on iPad, have to unlock using pin.
4. EverNote, Readder apps crash.
5. Occasionally, it will just crash while using halfway (suddenly black screen with loading icon, then bring you to lock screen).

iOS 13 is a huge update and this is only developer beta 2. If you’re feeling disappointed, you should have waited for iOS 13 public release in September.

Funny thing is, even though I was looking forward to the swipe keyboard on iOS 13, I ended up touch typing as usual...

Downgraded back to iOS 12 due to citi giving me issues. iOS 13 PB1 is actually alright imo, but battery drain is obvious. The new home screen icon toggles and peek/pop gestures might also need a bit of getting used to because they’re now invoked by simply long pressing (haptic touch) but I do find them popping up faster when you press in.

Thanks for this. Doesn't look like it's good enough to be used as a daily driver..haha

Suspect swiftkey eats battery life

No la... swiftkey alone doesn’t really eats battery.... just like you doesn’t eat rice (pun intended)

PB1 no battery drain issues but Citi app needs update. Maybe check if some process is using a lot of power in the background, especially GPS which is known to be a sucker if location settings are not set to what you need.

Years ago when i use iphone 7 plus it is a popular suspect for draining battery like Facebook app
Now not sure if they have solved this issue but right now i didnt notice any impact on battery life
But i would gladly take stock as it sure improve battery life. I bought iphone xr is because no bloat
Would prefer as little 3rd party app as possible

If you are on the beta and complaining about battery life WHICH YOU REALLY SHOULDN'T be, please revert and go back to stable builds.

Beta / Dev build software has tons of logging which adds up as extra overhead on the CPU which causes more battery drain due to more power. Things like iCloud Sync as well has issues it is not worth it for early beta

Tons of applications are causing warning messages when in used in the beta causing extra load. It is better to come back to public beta around the 3 or later versions. The best is the GM builds.

Agree on that! It will only get much better from at least around beta 5-6 and up.

You are right in what you explained but if someone were to try out a GM build then it defeat the purpose of trying out the beta since GM is the final and public release.

That is why... "It is better to come back to public beta around the 3 or later versions."

Also not all GM are actually the final ones. We had times where it final release was different.
