3d touch seems much more constant now. Before update it was a hit n miss sometimes but now it's working as it's meant to be.

Yup. No 1-to-1 replacement. Will get back to them if they don't solve the software issue on their end.

That sucks! Apple's beta testing is not thorough enough, 1st was error 53, now this....

Called Apple Customer Service regarding my iPad activation issue. Apparently I am not the only person who has this issue. Apple is trying to resolve the software issue at their end.

Did you service your iPad before?

iPad was not serviced before. No issues despite it being 2nd generation iPad. Apparently this activation error affects only iPad 2 with 3G+wifi. So those still having this iPad may want to re-consider updating the IOS later when Apple have a solution.

Thanks for the heads up. Will hold back the updates for my iPad 2 for the moment.

Don't even know why you attempt to update a snazzy OS on an ancient device with limited hardware power. Just don't do it again mate

Downloaded and installed IOS 9.3 on my iPad 2 using OTA. IOS was successfully installed and upgraded on the iPad. However, the installation was stucked at activation stage. Error message was "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporary unavailable. Try connecting your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes". Tried again a few times yesterday and today to activate and also tried using iTunes but it doesn't recognize the iPad. Anyone can help? Tks

Had the same issue. Activated after trying the below which I got from Apple forum.

Note that I have already did a backup on my computer before doing the iOS upgrade.

In short:
1) Login to iCloud.com and remove the affected iPad record.
1) Start in DFU. (Connect to iTunes with Home and Top button press and hold. Only release the buttons when then cable icon appear on iPad.)
2) Do a restore to factory and then choose to restore backup copy on computer.
3) Was able to activate iPad after that.
