resets at a later time it seems, but yes it resets.
really need more alex, archon, dart and priests

I see. It didn't reset for me since the day it came out, only resetting of heroes.

So far my contract-only dup characters are (in respective order) :

Nightingale (retired)
Lilith

Sneak
Hikari

Omg... RNGesus is real! Left with the last S Class mage Mondrian. But not really into him esp after seeing his legendary weapon.

Susano, giparang, roompa woopa, mundeok, sasquatch, Sentinel D, hanzo, vivian, vane, archilles, niven,

Mundeok+Vivian+Healer (Yeo/Mew) is a viable team I suppose.

Try getting Archon as she is the best non-contract solo PVE character I've used so far. She also does well in Colo up to master 50%.

Lol, nvm. Means ur luck will come next week. Last 2 weeks I get toons of 2* from hunter contracts.

mundeok can pair with most of them as leader, since he gives out free 3 chains.
sus pair with anyone that has physical based attack, only needs to be a 1 block spammer.
giparang, sentinel D and Vivian is pretty good PVE DPS
woompa is a decent buffer healer.
sasquatch is perma stunner.

hero Achilles, tenacious stein, mondrain, hikari, spyro, mandy, nursspy, himiko and some 3stars.

mondrain is awesome in pvp.

Nurpsy after the patch is quite decent , Hikari is good , Mondrian is good for pvp but u probably will need Archon to unlock mana recycle to use on Mondrian
