Finally got my M1 iPP 11" last weekend! Like to share my experience and just my own opinion so you still need to decide yourself.

I made an Apple Specialist (AS) appt online (Recommended for seamless access in case it get crowded) 2 days b4 my visit and entry was smooth and greeted immediately by the AS. I went with a whole list of quests but most importantly is you get to try and physically hold both the 11" and 12.9" models.

Size
I was first attracted by the screen real estate on the 12.9" when the AS demo and it looked like screen of 2 11" model place side by side. However when I hold the 12.9", the weight and size of it even without case immediately convinced me that I should be more practical since I am for on-the-go usage and holding it for content consumption. The 12.9" will make sense if I were to keep it for desktop use at home and bring it around at home. I was also convinced that I don't need the XDR display since the 11" model is good enuf plus watching in the dark to appreciate the optimal effect of true black display is not good for my eyes. Anw, I know I will hardly watch movie/show on the tablet.

Memory size
I was tempted to go with the 1TB model since it automatically upgrade the RAM to 16GB however it will be additional $600! plus the AS highlighted that even for the most hardcore graphic designer 16GB is way too much not to mention for someone like me who only use it for normal word processing.

Why i decided to buy on the spot
I was going to leave the store since I am planning to buy online for the free engraving service. However...
1. The AS informed that due to MBS Father's Day weekend promo, we can use the full 3% instant cash rebate with the 20% admin fee waived to offset 3rd party products
2. We found out from the AS that my brother who joined me when I was about to leave is working in a company under Apple Corp Tie-up which he can help me buy with some corp discount for 3rd party products
3. AppleCare+ coverage @ $199 which someone posted earlier allows you to go for 1 for 1 exchange once a year within the 2-year warranty period with a top up of $68 admin fee if your iPP suffer from deep impact. The AppleCare+ also command higher resale price in the market if you decide to sell it in future.
I walk away with my new iPP, AppleCare+ and a logitech Combo touch with discount I am happy with.

Having used the iPP for the past few days, I conclude that it is not a Laptop replacement but to complement your work and you will need to compromise your workflow unless Apple decided to improve a few features like screen extension, file management and etc... Enjoy your iPad everyone...

Oh yes finally, I plan to get the Apple Pencil soon. Can anyone who has the link to purchase this Power Support screen protector film which was recommended by a few member here share with me? I don't seem to find it the 11" model, looks like this film is from Japan for paperlike. TIA!

If Power Support is so difficult to get locally, why not get other brands like Paperlike or Spigen? Both are very similar in the touch and feel and I can't tell them apart. Spigen will be on the cheaper side and I had used Spigen TG for quite sometime, it's quite good.

Glad you enjoyed your new iPP as much as I did too, but I got a Logitech Slim Folio Pro and a gosh! tempered glass screen protector together with the iPP. My Pencil is 'recycled from my previous 2018 iPP, which I've since sold.

Agree that the iPP is no laptop replacement, iPadOS and macOS are just different altogether. My main computing work is done on my MBP while the iPP is for out and about use mainly, hence 11" is the perfect size for the job. 😁

any recommendation for screen protector for ipp that is good for pencil other than paperlike? I watched this video and completely agree as I have used an ipad with paperlike last time. Since now getting ipp i feel i should take full advantage of the amazing screen for media and not waste the quality on paperlike screen protectors.

Yes, while doing further due D on this Paperlike 2 screen protector last night, I also came across this Youtuber review and several other negative Youtuber reviews on Paperlike 2. Also on 2nd tot to pay $70 for a screen protector is way too much hence decided against Paperlike and will likely go for the Made in Japan Bellemond.

All paper screen protectors will affect the quality of the screen to become grainy and lower the quality. I think it will be worth it only if you buy the iPad with the intention to do more writing than media consumption. I plan to watch alot of youtube and Netflix so I think I won't be getting a paper screen protector

That complicates matters.
You’ll need to contact Apple to see what they can do.

I've contacted them but they only tell me to wait for the shipment since it is still within the estimated date range that was given to me.. this will probably be the last time i will do online purchase from apple store, in the future, better to go store to cash and carry..

By right if they charged you, delivery should be very fast. I placed an order for the new iMac on 24th May. I was informed delivery will take 6 weeks. I thought they were joking but no. Anyway, they didn’t charge me anything till a couple of days ago and then things started moving. I got my iMac yesterday. That’s 6 weeks of waiting.

Ya same, ordered placed on 24 May 2021. And it was charged immediately on that day (not sure is it becos i took the 24 months financing plan from Apple). My pencil arrived on 27 May 2021. Then right now, still waiting for the ipad.

Go to the email. Click on your order. They do update the status there. I got an email to update me on delivery 2 days after I got charged. Then within 2 days I got the iMac. The updates gets more detailed once it reaches SG. Hopefully you get your order soon.
